Stopped in for an early breakfast before heading out of town last week. It was a rainy morning. Glad they opened up on time at 7 AM was greeted with a bunch of friendly smiles and good mornings service was great. Food was hot and fresh. I had a great ham and cheese omelette and a couple slices of French toast delicious nice hot cup of coffee. I will be back.

Really amazing food, big portions, very affordable for the amount of food. I was surprised with the amount of food that came with my order. Highly recommend. And the waiters are wonderful and nice. I felt welcomed since the moment I entered the diner.

My family and I used to come here at least 3-4 times a week—one of us was always at Mark Twain Diner. We stopped going after the pandemic because prices went way up (for example, the Jersey Burger jumped from about $13 to $19).
I went back last night and ordered the bacon cheeseburger wrap. The food was excellent, and I upgraded to disco fries for $3.50, which I expected and was happy to pay.
I also asked for a little extra coleslaw since I love it. The server said “sure,” but what I didn’t expect was being charged $3.50 for a full side without being told. That, plus the wrap and fries, came to $36 with tip.
Food is still great, but experiences like this are a perfect example of why I don’t come here as often anymore—prices are high, and surprise up-charges don’t help. I don’t blame the server, she was great. I’m sure she is told to do this.

The food and beverage quality was good. Had a nice egg white omelette, hash browns, and 7-grain toast.
Service was very good at counter.
The atmosphere is typical for a diner. Nice, clean restroom.
Overall, it was a good experience, although it was $24.50 all-in (for one).

I suggested Mark Twain diner to my guy because I remember the food being really good. We ordered to go. Got home and the order for me incorrect. I should have checked before I left. Ordered the taco bowl. It comes with rice, black beans, peppers, onions, guac and lettuce. I passed on the latter two items. When I got home, sat down to eat and there is not one bean in the taco bowl. Now I am thoroughly annoyed because I had to go back to get what was missing. I had gotten home from work almost 8pm, only to go back out to pick up dinner. Now I’m going out a second time to get the missing items. Oh and the bacon for the order of pancakes was missing. His order was fine.
I could see if it was super busy. It was not busy. Maybe 6 people dining in? Now its after 10pm and I have a hot cup of beans and a cold taco bowl. I don’t even care to eat now.
For my trouble they gave me two cookies. Though I am appreciative of all that I have and get, some money off the bill or a fresh new order made as it should have been made for the inconvenience would have been greatly also appreciated. When I called I was offered a discount for the next time if I DID NOT come back tonight to pick up the beans and the bacon. In all honesty I don’t know if it will be a next time.

Love this diner. It is nowhere near me (about an hour away) and I will drive out of my way to hit this diner any chance I get. The service is always spectacular, the place is always clean, and the food is always good. All food comes with a bowl of soup and extra sides, which is brilliant for customer satisfaction – and the coleslaw and macaroni salad sides are perfect. The soup choices are excellent. I love everything about this place. If it were closer to me I would be here all the time.

Great spot for good food, great service, and spacious seating areas. The place was crowded but we had no trouble being seated and we stayed as long as we wanted. The matzah ball soup and Greek salad were both amazing, and the entrees were large portions. Overall a great gathering place for food and fun!

For our side we had seafood bisque soup, cheese fries with brown gravy and philly steak egg rolls with a divine dipping sauce

Home fries tasted so old. The men servers here are mean. The restaurant is clean but the men servers don’t understand customer service. I can’t say that because I use to come in this dinner a lot. I stopped coming because I was so disrespected by a male server, I decided never to come back. Only reason why I came back here was because the person I was dating wanted to try it. I said you were going to be disappointed and we were. The food was old…..SMH their food presentation is so 1930s. They need to step it up.

A classic New Jersey diner, menu being pretty broad and seating is the standard booths and tables. Lots of different choices for breakfast and other meals. All served all day long.
Chicken noodle soup was actually quite good, lots of chicken and noodles. The chicken marsala was a good size, but the sauce wasn’t very interesting, not a lot of wine or savory-ness, just a bland gravy. Black Forest cake was nothing like the original, it was just so.
Service was okay, server was friendly but forgot part of the order until reminded. It was a quiet night so probably just off.
