Absolutely delicious!!! We drove an hour to pick up our Swedish Princess Cake, It was so moist it almost melted in our mouths. We also picked up a chocolate peanut butter dessert that tasted like a Snickers, a Cannoli (I was told later that it was the best ever), and a tiny cheesecake tipped with strawberries (I was told that was also creamy and delicious). The service was excellent, including when I was ordering over the phone. Super patient and nice…great customer service!

As a New Haven veteran, it pains me to see the decline of once famous pastry shop. I was quite hopeful that the shop would continue to be the best place in town for pastry and cakes when Rusty sold his business sometime after great recession. Alas, the place went down along with its quality and service. Whenever you go, you see a display of low quality pastries haphazardly made. Looks quite unsightly if you compare it with how well the place looked when Rusty was at helm. The saddest part in my mind is that the current owner is not even capable of realizing it . I wish the current owner the best. But the Marjoaine that we knew is history.

I had cannoli and cupcakes – both delicious and the decorations were adorable! Prices were about as expected for a fancy bakery – not cheap but not ridiculous either. Cashier was friendly and let me take my time picking what I wanted.

The chocolatier Melt share the space and saved my marriage on Valentine’s day with their delicious assortment of truffles. I am glad I got the small box because my wife sampled each of the ones o purchased in the small box. when I told her about the large box she asked my why I didn’t get it. thanks…

Be sure to get a “Poppy” if there’s any left! They’re more sweet than savory, the seeds are not crunchy but not mushy either, just a great balance all around and deeeeelicious!!

I’m still thinking about that blueberry danish I grabbed here. It was so good, I will be sure to stop by on my next trip out east. They had homemade Snickers candy bars available that were very tasty too.
