Great local seafood spot with much better prices than the beach-front restaurants.
We shared the mixed seafood platter and shrimp tacos – both were fresh, flavorful, and a very generous portion. The place itself is simple but cosy and feels properly local.
Only downside: they didn’t have tuna on the day we visited, which was a bit disappointing.
Overall, highly recommended if you want excellent seafood, good portions, and fair prices away from the tourist traps.

This used to be one of our favorite places. Went at least twice a month. Most recently, it has not been the same. The last two times they were out of fried fish. Decided to try the empanadas instead. And ordered ceviche as usual. We have always loved the ceviche but it was tiny shrimps and not many, mostly onions and tomatoes. Ordered fish empanadas. They were 180 pesos for 3. Very small and full of vegetables. Not even sure if fish was in them. Love the atmosphere, salsa and limonada but unfortunately won’t be back due to the recent changes.

It surprised us that the restaurant was empty.
We had smoked Marlin salad and fish with coconut and tamarind.
The fish is thinly coated with panko if real coconut strips, pan fried to perfection. Add the tamarind sauce, it is very delicious.
The Marlin salad, they cut the Marlin too small and put too much mayonnaise in it. Otherwise I would give the food a 5 stars.
The restaurant decoration is nice. The waiter was excellent.
We will go back again.

We’ve gone to Mariscos Camilos twice during our stay and both times were great. It’s the only place we ate at twice and truly enjoyed in Cozumel. The fry batter on the calamari is light and the whole fried fish is the best. It’s one of the most affordable whole fried fish on the island. All of their seafood is fresh and clean. The seltzer lemonade is also refreshing and not too sweet. Guacamole and ceviche also great. Really can’t go wrong with anything on this menu!

What a little gem. Our grilled grouper filet was amazing and only 100 pesos. We will be back to try other items. Restaurant has great AC and waiter was very attentive. Nice decor as well.
