This is a wonderful family run establishment with very attentive staff that looks unassuming from the outside. The food is delicious and I recommend the Shrimp Ceviche if you’re looking for something spicy yet refreshing. Every patron is served a small cup of delicious shrimp stew broth, sprinkle it with lime and throw in a sprinkle of salt. The octopus is very good too. Portions are generous for the price when compared to the similar places in the neighborhood, of which there are a few. Take a chance if you’re looking for mariscos and you won’t be disappointed.

This place is addicting. The food is always fresh and consistent. The menu is limited because they specialize in what they make and don’t disappoint.

Stopped by Mariscos Almada on the East Side and it did not disappoint. I had the shrimp and octopus cocktail—super fresh and packed with flavor—and the mojarra frita, which was crispy and seasoned just right. Spent around $25, and it was worth every penny. The staff was friendly, and the place had a laid-back, welcoming vibe. Definitely coming back with friends next time.

Stopped by Mariscos Almada for dinner and was impressed. The Tostada de Camarón was fresh and zesty, and the Camarones a la Diabla packed a flavorful punch. The Caldo de Camarón was hearty and comforting. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was casual. Spent about $30, which felt like a solid deal for the quality and portions. Looking forward to trying more dishes next time.

Coming from out of town, Walked in with my partner, we were not greeted. We sat ourselves while still being ignored. Restaurant only had 3 tables w people, they were NOT busy. They had more employees in the kitchen about 4-5. The employee/owner made eye contact w us and still didn’t come to our table. 2 other ladies walk in about 5 mins later, the waiter very nicely comes to their table, greets them, brings them the appetizer while we are still waiting. About 10 mins waiting he finally comes to our table, rude. He didn’t even turn to look at me while taking the order and directed his attention to my friend while still having a rude tone. She order a shrimp/octopus cocktail, I ordered an aguachile. Finally, about 30 mins later we get our food. While waiting we keep seeing how he tends the other tables, very nice and polite, offering options and even smiling. He brings our food w an attitude, as he gave us the cocktail we let him be aware that it was missing the octopus. It looked like it bothered him that we told him that, he continued talking to other tables while we still waited for the octopus to add to the cocktail. I get up, walk towards the service window and politely asked the lady in the back, whom I was told is the owner… I ask her excuse me ma’am would you please give me the portion of octopus for the cocktail because we had asked the waiter and he didn’t seem to care. She looked at me and said in a rude manner sit down and when he gets done he will bring it over… went back to the table, realized the shrimp from the aguachile were all raw. Didn’t say anything about that because we we re already having a terrible experience… he kept serving other tables and my partner asked where is the octopus you were bringing and he just rolled his eyes, went to the back and came back 5 mins later with it and on top of that with an attitude.
Only had a couple bites of the food because it wasn’t even great. Service was the worst! It’s sad that our own “raza” behaves like that towards their own. When all we are doing is supporting small businesses in our communities. We didn’t go in asking for free food. We pay for our meals. We don’t understand why his attitude towards us since we walked in. This was my 1st time and LAST time. Food no good. Service the worst. I am not one to be posting reviews and especially like this but I don’t think anybody should be treated like that. I’ve worked in the food industry and I know it can get stressful but if you have an attitude problem fix it before dealing w customers. Everyone has problems, but we can’t take them on other people. Now if he had a problem w how I look (soft masc, short hair) and if that had anything to do w the type of service we received. Very very disappointed. Would not recommend.

The food is really good and service is always great. The only downside is the ridiculous prices for what you get.
