Highly recommend it, the food was delicious, James was the server, and he was amazing. The decoration is beautiful and unique, the ambience is super cool, and very comfy cushions. You can have a hard seating or soft spot. Plenty of room for a group and their menu is well layout. James showed me the digital pictures of the food to order from the menu. My friend from Oklahoma loved the food too.

It’s a great vibe and the people and the drinks are nice. The menu and the portions are very small. That’s kind of a non starter for me. The Guac and chips is so small, it’s what most mexican restaurants give out for free when you order a meal. Tacos? every Mex rest I’ve ever been to you get three, sometimes four. Here? two. Cool place, but very limited menu and very small portions for the money. I went there three years ago, now again. See you in three years, maybe.

Sat at the bar for a beverage and a couple snacks and was overall quite happy with our experience. The bartender was friendly and helpful in selecting beverages and food. There are probably 10 seats at the bar in an L shape with high chairs and plenty of space. The atmosphere is quite lively and bright (perhaps a little too bright) and there really isn’t anything to help cut down on the noise as the floors are concrete and there aren’t many cushions. The arepas were tasty – nice chew to the corn cake and stuffed with plenty of filling. The highlight was definitely the tostones. Super salty, nice crunch but still very tender. The dipping sauce was the highlight of the meal – simply olive oil with some spices and a huge punch of fresh garlic. If you plan on smooching after dinner definitely make sure you’re both having the dipping sauce…
Definitely plan on coming back here sometime. There was a small patio which looked like it could be fun in the Spring.

Not from their area, we were passing through and thought, “Heck yeah, Mexican food, let’s try that.” Well, that’s what we did. But we didn’t realize the food is small-sized here. No sides unless extra, and the chips and salsa were a small sample size. Don’t get me wrong, the food was great and the server was awesome. I just wasn’t expecting small portions for a Mexican restaurant. We are from California, so we know how they serve it up over there. We can in for lunch I don’t know if dinner menu is different.

After reading so many great reviews I wanted this place to deliver so much more than what I got. My first impression upon walking in was a charming, unique, Mexican restaurant. My server was very friendly and attendant to me. I ordered a carne mechada apepas and found it to be very greasy and inedible. The server picked up on that and asked the manager to remove it from the check (I did not ask for this, but i appreciate the attention). I also ordered Pollo tacos and fish tacos. Unfortunately I found the pork to be very dry and fish to be over fried. I did not finish my meal. To the establishments defense I was offered replacements and humbly declined and offered to pay for everything I tasted. Based on the level of business I personally witnessed in the restaurant and the reviews I’ve read, and the offer to replace food I would assume my experience is not normal. After a 12 hour day I was looking for perfect tacos and was disappointed. I would likely give it another go. The presentation looked good, but unfortunately the quality of my meal did not deliver and I was unable to finish it.

Whenever we’re in Danbury, we try to come here. One of the best taco spots I’ve ever tried. The veggie tacos, which are often an afterthought on any menu, are probably the best thing on this one though I don’t think I’ve had anything here I didn’t like. Great food, great vibes.

Lovely place! Enjoyed outdoor seating. Friendly service and nice atmosphere. Homemade chips and guacamole was a nice start. Everyone enjoyed their street tacos. I love the jicama slaw for a healthy side option! Drinks were delicious. Lemonadas were fun! Even the ice was cool!

Have gotten 3 catering orders and have gone out to eat here multiple times over the last 2 years. The food is extremely delicious and the staff is very friendly. Not to mention the GM is very accommodating and attentive for the catering I have got. I have always left satisfied.

Passing through Danbury on our way to points south, decided to give Mariposa a try. Found it to be a winner on all counts. The food was fresh and flavorful with just the right touch of heat. The atmosphere was inviting and the service was excellent.

If you find yourself in Danbury, Mariposa Taqueria is definitely worth looking into.

The place is really nice!. As it was our first time we order several small things to try:

Carne machada arepa , delicious, even my picky eater devoured one of the 2 we order to share .

Cheesy corn empanada, it was scalding hot but as we were still on the arepa when it arrived it was perfect, it has a small hint of coconut that really makes it perfect.

Conxinhas have to accept was not my favorite but mostly for my taste because kids and husband liked theirs

Shrimp tostada was also good, but didn’t get to try a lot as husband liked it the most

And Mexican corn. Perfect!

We are going soon back to try also tacos next time and birria for sure.
