First time, came for Brunch on a Saturday. Our server Carlos gave phenomenal, attentive service. The corn fritters were delicious, also Lolla was Sossa Salad was great. Highly recommend the Peruvian Chicken Bowl!!! and the Bloody Mary’s are good too! Lovely spot with fresh and tasty food.

What a fun place for brunch. I was pleasantly surprised with this location. There was a wide variety of items that are not expected for a traditional brunch menu. The corn fritters and kimchi rice were phenomenal. I would also recommend getting the dollar bloody Mary, which was not over the top and perfect to mix with your breakfast food.

I brought my mother out for a Mom/Daughter dinner and everything about this place exceeded our expectations. Asia was also phenomenal! She guided us through so many wonderful food choices and was a delight to speak with. The view was incredible, drinks hit perfectly, meal-perfection, and the dessert was delicious! We will definitely return! Thank you Asia for helping make this night with my mom extra special!

My wife and I came to Mariposa during Restaurant Week Jan. 2026 and enjoyed it, but not enough that we’ll return any time soon.
The restaurant itself is beautiful and well-decorated, and we enjoyed sitting on comfortable sofas for dinner.
Our waitress, Greer (sp?), was very good.
My Chasu Pork Belly for the opening course was a delicious & unusual combination of flavors, and my wife enjoyed her Tuna Poke Tacos. We both chose the Steak au Poivre for the main course, and this was the most disappointing part of the meal. The 6oz sirloin was perfectly cooked at medium rare, but at least 1/3 of my sirloin was inedible gristle. I brought this to Greer’s attention, and she got the manager. She apologized and said that they would discount my meal….but more on that later.
My wife’s Crème Brûlée was good, but not excellent. Same for my Chocolate Tres Leches. Good, but nothing special. Not worth the 30 minute drive from south Charlotte.
So we reached the end of the meal and got the check, only to learn that my meal was NOT, in fact, discounted. What they did, was remove the automatic 20% gratuity they normally add. I’m sorry – WHAT?! Yes, there was the opportunity for me to add a gratuity, which of course I did, because Greer didn’t deserve to be penalized for something out of her control, but that is NOT the same as a discount.
To be fair, it’s Restaurant Week, and the meal was already steeply discounted – $55 for a 3-course meal at such a nice restaurant is ridiculously low. Heck, if they had taken just $5 off, I’d have been fine with the gesture. But to just take off the automatic gratuity, such that I had to chose between Greer getting a tip for her work or nothing, is not a “discount.”
Maybe if our meal had been at full fee, they’d have done more, but if I’d paid $40 (their usual price), I’d have been way more upset with 1/3 of the steak being inedible.
Very misleading and disappointing/dishonest move by management.

Mariposa is an absolute gem! The food is a true adventure for the taste buds. My Peruvian chicken bowl was a perfect symphony of flavors—each bite was an exciting and unexpected treat. My husband’s lamb burger was cooked to perfection and just as delicious. To top it all off, the “Metamorphosis” cocktail was a beautiful, refreshing treat that was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Located adjacent to the Mint Museum, Mariposa has one of the best upscale dining experiences in Charlotte with unique offerings that fuse global flavors. Whether dining indoors or on the outdoor patio, the intimate ambiance is perfect for dining. My preference is outdoors for the evening service to bask in the sun’s warm rays as I dine. Service is professional and swift. The menu is carefully crafted with robust flavors that tease the palate. I enjoyed Octopus A La Plancha, Southeast Asian Street Tacos, and Chocolate Tres Leches cake. The food was divine.

This place was a fun find! We ended up here after showing up at another restaurant around the corner whose hours were wrong on Google. The idea behind the place is the owner has traveled the world and brought back fun recipes from all over. We were at the restaurant during happy hour so we ordered the tuna poke tacos and salmon rillettes from the apertivo menu. My husband got an old fashioned and I tried the sunshine spritz since I’m a fan of limoncello. Everything was fantastic! The tuna poke tacos are served in a crisp wonton which gave it a nice crunch with the soft tuna. The salmon rillettes is served with crusty bread and an excellent mustard aioli! Will definitely be back here again.

Dinner was amazing. Started off with Tuna Taco small plate wonderful flavor love the crunch and very fresh tasting. Mushroom risotto was great. Had a parmesan crisp on top that was a nice added flavor. We also had the potatoes and feta salad which was fresh and more of a European style salad. Our drinks were the lavender sky which was pretty to look at and yummy. The other drink was golden glow which was definitely rum heavy and the chai added a nice flavor. Would definitely go back as I want to try the octopus and salmon

Carlos or server was amazing. Lovely energy, well versed in the menu and the chefs, and perfect cadence through out the night. He made the experience. It was restaurant week as well, so the food had something to prove and it did. I saw out on their balcony area, the view on this night were also great. Wonderful experience. This made my weekend getaway all the better

Mariposa seems to be about the same experience every time we go. The food is usually good. I got the lamb burger and enjoyed it but the sweet potato fries were overcooked. Others in my groups got other meals they enjoyed. Challenge is that it’s ridiculously priced for Charlotte. Also the menu sometimes get overly creative simply for the reason of being different, not necessarily good. The live music was very nice. Talented guys but it was very loud. We had to yell at each other at the table to hear each other. So basically, it’s a mixed bag.
