Even though I’ve ordered food at Marios multiple times, every time I eat their Italian entrees, I realize how good their comfort food really is!

I’ve ordered for pick-up & dined in sitting outside. Today, I ate in. Mario’s has a couple tables inside & more outside, weather permitting in a no frills but comfortable setting. They sell t-shirts & hats with the humorous slogan: ” Help Wanted. Low pay, hard work & mean boss.”

I ordered the soup special & three cheese bake penne dinner, which comes with a nice salad and italian bread. My brother ordered vegetarian pizza. The owners cooked everything & served us the meal.

The salad is comprised of mixed greens, onion, tomato, olive & a delicious, homemade Caesar dressing served with a generous amount of French bread & butter.

The soup special was lemon, chicken & rice soup, which was very good. The 3 cheese bake penne made with mozzarella, ricotta & parmesan is made with a homemade marinara (can be ordered with or without meat) & serves 2-4 people depending on portion size. It’s a good value for the amount you get as are the other entrees; the same goes for their subs, which are also delicious. They use quality ingredients & do substitutions if requested.

They have several desserts: a delicious, homemade, tiramisu as well as brownies & cannoli for dessert.

They have limited hours off-season hours, usually open TH-Sun for lunch & dinner. Take-out or limited eat-in. Longer hours over the summer. It’s definitely worth a visit when near Union Pier, MI, in Harbor Country.

We dined in. The employees are very friendly, and attentive. Making sure we were enjoying our meal. Always smiling, very comfortable atmosphere. Outside is so inviting.
This was our first visit and will definitely return, on our next trip to Michigan. We deem this our most favorite spot. We had subs, so delicious.
Thank you so much Mario’s.

We are from out of town and wanted to grab a quick bite, they were more than happy to make a pizza for us even though they were closing in less than 30 minutes. No frills, classic style pizza. Also got homemade tiramisu and it was great! Appreciate the friendly service.

This was meant to be takeout to head to the brewery down the street with our dogs, but at the last minute we realized the brewery was closed for Father’s Day. We were glad to see Mario’s had covered outdoor seating and the staff was so friendly and helped get us set up with paper plates and cutlery, water for the dogs, etc. We had the house pizza, bbq pizza + onions, and the antipasto salad. We enjoyed it all!

Drove over 30 miles just to have this pizza! Best around and hands down the best most family chill atmosphere! I absolutely LOVED this place the food and the owners!

Basic pies, floppy and greasy. Nothing terrible about them, just a middle of the road pizza. The large calzone is enormous and we enjoyed it. Delivery was super fast and everyone was friendly

This is a review for the sandwiches. We ordered the Italian, Italian sausage, Philly cheese steak. They were all great. The meat is generous and the bread was fresh. Also they did not charge me for extra sauce and mayo on the side. Only criticism I had was that the sausage might have been better (easier to eat) if it was sliced. Taste wise the Italian takes the trophy. I would have posted pictures but coming from three great big fat guys we ate them all too quickly.

The people themselves were extremely nice, the place looked very clean and the service was fast as could be. With that said, the pizza was less than ok. Maybe I’m just biased because I’m a New Yorker and I’ve had the best of the best pizza, but this was just not good. The sauce tasted like it was from a can, turned pink (which means it’s either watered down or its cheap), the cheese just slid right off with every slice (and yes even after it was cooled down), it had no taste and the crust was semi foldable but didn’t have the same texture throughout the slice. Needs some more flavor, somethings just missing. I hate being negative, but I also would hate not getting real feedback from my customers and one day wondering why they stop coming in.

Again, nothing but kind smiling friendly people working there. Pizza just needs something more.

I have been coming here for years from Chicago. I always get the grilled chicken Parm sandwich but this time the quality of the chicken meat has gone down to me. It seemed rubbery and processed not like a true grilled chicken breast . Pizza looks good, but for me I wouldn’t get anything with chicken again.

Absolutely awesome. I’m a guy of hometown pizza joints and lemme tell ya this place is awesome. People are great, pizza was awesome (we got the house special) and a Philly with a salad. So good! Flavor, large in size and hot ans delicious. Highly recommend
