Here in NC it has been very difficult to find something like that, and yet I give myself the opportunity to try places from time to time. Honestly, when you walk in it smells amazing and feels familiar, but it seemed like just a first impression… I have to say our hot antipasto wasn’t bad at all, I really enjoyed it. A simple sauce and a well-executed dish overall. The drinks weren’t pleasant at all, neither my husband’s alcoholic one nor my mocktail. Everything was either very bitter or very acidic with no real flavor. Our pastas were okay. My husband’s veal parmesan was acceptable, but mine only tasted of lemon with no complexity whatsoever, and the pasta was a bit overcooked. They gave me the option of ordering just half a portion, and I mistakenly chose a full plate thinking it would be excellent. The prices might be reasonable for the portions, but if we’re talking about flavor, they’re not worth it at all.
I was hoping to finally find something authentic and well-prepared, but this is a hard pass.
PS: Not exactly a family atmosphere, they have a bar next door which allows entry to people over 16 and our entire dinner was next to a scene of marital infidelity with crying, shouting and everything and none of the staff did anything about it even though there were other families around who surely wanted a quiet dinner like us.
The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauces were rich and well-balanced, and the portions were generous. You can really taste the quality in every bite. The garlic knots and tiramisu were definite highlights!
Service was friendly and attentive, making the entire meal even more enjoyable. It’s the kind of neighborhood spot that makes you feel like family.
If you’re craving classic Italian comfort food in Charlotte, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back!
The eggplant was okay. Believe it was frozen. Tasted pretty good had spaghetti accompany it.
I had chicken francise for $18. One piece of chicken no salad. I thought i substituted macaroni with broccoli. But they actually charged me a upcharge the broccoli.
Service was very good. But food was not worth the price. The only other freebee was garlic knots.
Unfortunately, we had a very underwhelming experience. None of the dishes we ordered had any flavor. The bruschetta was especially disappointing—usually a safe appetizer, but here it was just a bowl of chopped tomatoes served with plain bread, lacking any seasoning or presentation. The mahi had a slight flavor but was overshadowed by a burnt taste. The shrimp angel hair pasta was completely bland with no seasoning at all. Definitely expected better.
The bar and restaurant are beautiful and they have a great patio, so definitely a great place to come if you want a nicer Italian meal.
