Mario’s Cuban cuisine is a fusion of Spanish, African, and Caribbean cuisine. Cuban recipes share spices and techniques with Spanish and African cooking, with some Caribbean influence in spice and flavor. This results in a unique, interesting and flavorful blend of the several different cultural influences. At Mario’s Family Restaurant we pride ourselves in following the most legitimate Cuban culinary tradition to allow our guests to enjoy the deliciousness of the Cuban and Latin Cuisine in a family style restaurant.

The food here is super authentic and very delicious! Lots of flavors. We ordered milanesas de pollo con congrí y ensalada and it was 10/10. Service was great too, nayibi was very friendly and quick. She checked up on us multiple times. I would come again.

Early breakfast for our work crew, our server G. Delmis was great, she knew the menu, explained what things were and suggested items. I had the Chorizo omelet, coworker had Ranchero plate and another had eggs and pancakes, Cuban coffee. Will be back.

The food looks delicious, but, the arroz con pollo lacks flavor. The chicken was good but the rice was very bland. I was disappointed, I would never order this dish again. I hope the owner/cook improves the flavor of the rice. Also, it would be nice to hear Cuban music playing in a Cuban restaurant.

My pork was so dry and it was in cubes and I asked for shredded. Shredded pork is more moist and this meal was so dry that it hardly had any flavor. If it wasn’t for the sauté onions it wouldn’t have had any flavor at all. I gave my food to a friend. I just didn’t want it. For the cost, I wish I had gotten a better meal. The black beans tasted good.

When we come to Homestead we always stop by Marios. Great Cuban food. We always love their Shrimp Enchiladas with their specials sauce. Excellent. The yucca is very good also and their black beans. Another favorite of mine is their plantains. Really good.

July 2021: great food, good ambiance, great menu options, friendly staff. We went at closing time, so our service was a bit delayed. But every dish tasted great. The Cuban bread for the sandwiches were amazing.

The best dining experiences we had in the Miami area. They are well known for their cuban sandwiches, and you should order one during your visit. I also tried their other popular items: beef empanada and congris.
