It was a great find near the border between New York and Massachusetts. The dishes were pleasantly prepared and delicious. The dessert utilizing fresh peach was a must try when available. Everyone here was friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful evening. Thank you!

We’ve eaten here a few times whenever we are in the area skiing. My wife recently had the scallops and she said it was one of the best she’s ever had. We love the real wood burning fireplace in the winter. The drink selection is excellent. The menu choices should satisfy everyone. Service has always been excellent, we had Doug as our most recent server and he was great.

I’ve driven past this place for years, but holiday ski traffic and an empty stomach finally pushed us to stop in and I’m glad it did. Started with wedge salads (very good) and an excellent scallop appetizer. Then they brought out a popover, never had one before, hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Entrées were the roast duck breast with leg confit and the cavatelli with sausage and shrimp. Both were outstanding. No room for dessert, but we’ll definitely be back. Very pleasantly surprised and glad we stopped.

We had a group of 6 people and had the best time at the Spencer House! The entire house is decorated so nicely and is very cozy. We loved being able to have a fire in the living room while we hung out. There are 7 bedrooms and many bathrooms – all were very comfortable and had a good amount of space.

Make sure to have dinner next store at Mario’s- it was so convenient to be walking distance and the food was so good!

We went to Mario for our anniversary on a Thursday night, we arrived at 4:00 p.m. and there were plenty of tables available. They started us out with Italian bread with butter and delicious white bean salad. Next game the hot popovers that were fabulous, then for the main course, I had chicken Oscar which was fabulous, breaded chicken covered with a burgundy and hollandaise sauce, lobster pieces and asparagus. Also included in the plate were carrots, broccoli and roasted potatoes. My wife enjoyed a delicious eggplant parm with pasta. The chocolate mouse cake for dessert was decadent ! Great dinner!

I only stopped there for a glass of wine on my way home from a military event, I had no idea of how cute this place would be!!!
I need to come back and have a proper dinner with my husband. Food looked delicious! One glass of wine was $15.00 plus tip and I sat at the bar, not bad. Cooper bar and a fire place bring a cozy elegance vibe. Thank you to our bartender Sarah!

Our family went here a year ago for my birthday and had the most amazing evening, with excellent food and service. I was, therefore, looking forward to a repeat of last time when we went for my birthday this year, but I was beyond disappointed with this particular dining experience. We were seated a few minutes before our 7:30 reservation time, and things were off to a good start, though the drinks were a little pokey in coming and the waitress seemed overstretched. The appetizers were excellent, but things took a turn when, between our appetizers and the main course, it took nearly an hour of waiting for them to arrive. While the waitress sent the apologies of the chef twice, and was told that dessert was on the house, we waited as nearby diners received their dinners, desserts, and left as we waited for the main course. When the entrees finally arrived, my duck was overcooked and cold, though the rest of the table had a good meal. When I explained to the waitress that the meal was overcooked and cold, she repeated my complaint back to me and took the meal back to the kitchen, later telling me the item would be removed from the bill but offering no substitution. As the restaurant emptied, we received our free desserts. Unbeknownst to me, my father had called and made arrangements for a gift card to pay for the meal, which the waitress then presented to us at the conclusion of the evening. While the duck dish was not on our bill and we were comped two desserts, my birthday celebration, and the thoughtfulness of the gift, was marred by the whole experience (and I’d not had a proper dinner). When my husband called to speak to the manager the next day, he was told that dining at Mario’s was “an experience” and not a rushed affair, something that, as experienced fine diners, we knew, but an hour seemed excessive and the dismissive response by the manager of “What would you like me to do about?” was further insult to injury. Mario’s has a lovely atmosphere and typically good food, and it seems the six or so other parties celebrating birthdays that evening had a good experience; however, we did not and would be hard-pressed to return in light of this most recent experience.

Such a great restaurant. Brian, our server was outstanding , We sat inside the dining room but there is also outside seating on a wrap around porch or in the bar area. The pop overs are made fresh every few minutes so they come put of the kitchen hot and crunchy!! Do yourself a favor and go th Mario’s!!

The food was very good. The atmosphere is pleasant. Our service was not great, sadly. We went here for our 9th wedding anniversary and we did have a nice time, however our waitress seemed to forget about us sadly. They were busy but i felt there needed to be more attention given to guests.

There are limited vegetarian options, but the appetizers and dish I did try were excellent. Great appetizers were the Mushroom Beiget and the Zucchini Boat. Their popovers were also perfect – very rich. Eggplant Parmigiana was pretty good. The tiramisu, was also very rich. Overall the food was fresh, flavorful, and well crafted – a very talented chef works here! Our service was fine, but keep in mind the place is usually pretty busy, and it is best to call ahead for a reservation.
