Very disappointed in Maribel’s! there service today was so horrible the girl that took our order was rude she hung up on me twice, and when I did speak with her she kept putting me on hold and would completely forget that I was even on the line finally after the fourth attempt I called in and ordered my food at 12:15 and my food was not ready until 1:15 normally I don’t mind waiting especially if the food is good! but I order chilaquiles and they were extremely dry no sauce in the photo I had to add sauce that’s how dry they were! the beans tasted canned and I have had their chilaquiles before and what a big difference, they were not good! And honestly for what I paid and waited for! And the service they gave me was terrible! That would be the last time I eat there! They lost a loyal customer! That picture was only 10 minutes after they handed to me! It looks like it’s been there over night!

I haven’t been here in a month or so but stopped by today because I read there was a new owner and the place has improved since.
There is a change in atmosphere — in a positive way.
Definitely have to point out the cashier Ashley who greeted and served everyone with the biggest smile. Food came out good also.

I read some of the other reviews about people not coming back because the previous owner was rude. He’s not there anymore, this place has new ownership and it’s so much better now!

Will definitely be returning. Thank you!

First time in. All the staff I interacted with were kind and helpful.

The chicken pupusa was made fresh and tasted amazing. The price was was lower than expected and the size was larger.

Food had become mediocre at best. They used to be great when on the BLVD but now everything is done cheap as possible. Bearly a fruit in the place. Just tubs of flavored jelly and cake with lots of syrup, sometimes a bit over cooked. Sorry Maribel, but I hope to enjoy a fantastic pastry in the future. Thank you

I loved the new service they have, I went to order a cake and they met all my expectations. They have a greater variety of cakes and what can we say about the tres leches with red fruits and mascarpone cheese mousse, it is a delight, they also have carrot cake.
While there I realized that it has new owners and there is a different atmosphere. I think the person who gave me the cake was the owner and the truth is that she is very kind and attentive.
While I was there I ordered something to eat and my food, as always, was very delicious and fresh, I will really return.
But the best of all is that the old fat man with glasses is no longer there, Maribel really needed a change of owner. I wish the new owners much success, they made me feel at home. I recommend this place and I definitely recommend it.

Must be new owners because they always run out of the bread pudding. Maribel always had it available every single day. Never going there again

We have been there 2 times but the incident was Maybe a year ago. We went there for tamales and Pastries. While we were parking I seen a worker from the establishment taking out the trash. ( not a problem). But when we came in I notice she didn’t wash her hands. I politely asked her can she was her hands. Efire raking our order . And that we have seen her take out the trash. She looked at me and my daughter with disgust. Replied back “what, what did you say, ) I reminded her we observed her taking out the trash and can she please wash her hands. She seemed surprised and pist at the same time. We decided to never go there again.

Lately I have been there a couple of times, the people who serve you are very friendly, especially a new girl who every time you arrive makes you feel very welcome and is attentive to the customer’s needs, the food is very delicious, their birria, pupusas, cakes, corn quesadillas, cheese tamales and desserts.
You can see that there is a change and the atmosphere feels very pleasant, I definitely recommend them. Well they say it is a hidden gem in the AV

Best Pupusas, they make them so big stuffed nicely you get full with just 1. I am from L.A. and authenticity is something I always look for in cultural plates and this one hits! Such a nice homemade taste!
