This place reminded me of El Grullense in Los Banos. When I lived in LB that was my goto spot. Ive been living here in Atwater and never noticed Maria’s , which is amazing since Ive lived here for 7 years. Im definitely glad I found this place. My fav is menudo and Maria’s has it just the way I like it, in a 32oz cup. I also got some mini tacos as well. They also have covered outside eating. This will now be my goto spot. Im looking forward to winter, so I can swing by and pick up some menudo for work. This place is definitely worth 5 stars.

Sent my wife in to get 60 dollars worth of food. They had a new girl working so they say and she 1st tried to argue about what color mountain dew was. She was trying to give me some white color soda and said it was mountain dew. Then they made us the wrong food and I go back to get just 1 burrito and 1 side order of bean and cheese replace and I get the most rudest interaction that I ever had with any fastfood place that messed up your meal. Then they felt like they didn’t want to replace the beans and cheese the right way I guess so they gave me a bowl full of bean sauce with nothing else in it. I call them back and they hang up in me twice and tell me I don’t even eat there before some other lady apologizes ask some questions and then apologizes. Used to love that lil spot… After this encounter. Check your food before you leave if you don’t want to waste time and gas. 1/100 interaction… 60 $ down the waste

It was a nice small taco shop, no restrooms no high chairs, a dining area but it’s closed. You have to wear masks and there is markings on the floor where to stand because if the covid19. The guy at the counter had a mask but not the cook.. They both looked healthy and we’re very friendly. The Good was good. I had Carne asada tacos and rolled tacos for my friend. Pretty good.

Maria’s has the best food It’s better than most of the sit down Mexican restaurants in town if this place had a better dining room They could actually put some of the Mexican restaurants in town out of business!

The service was great but the food was bland. Not horrible… it just didn’t have an authentic taste to it. The portions was generous though. The beans taste like rosarita and the salsa is watery. My humble opinion is that if they had someone fine tune the seasoning of the meat, and created a freshly made salsa they would generate a bigger crowd. The place was very clean in the dining area.

I’d give 4 stars of we could get our own salsas like we were able to before. I hate having to ask for what we want because places are always so greedy with sauces or salsa’s it’s annoying not even worth it. Employees end up arguing with customers over it or say you only get a certain specific numbered amount. All salsa’s are on the side so without, food can be really dry and plain.

Was not happy ordered 2 grilled chicken tacos the meat was not grilled it was boiled then topped with tomatoes no onions no cilantro .. husband ordered asada steak burrito meat had no seasoning he did not like it. I don’t know what the disconnect was but this place used to be good. Won’t come back wasted money I could have used for gas!!
