This place came recommended by my sister’s colleague when we were going on vacation to Pensacola, and it did not disappoint. Not in a touristy part of town so it’s not overwhelming and feels very authentic and local. True gem. Food was awesome – we got oysters, po boys, the gumbo, lobster bisque, grits, everything was delicious. The staff are awesome and treat you like an old friend rather than a stranger visiting their town and were very sweet to my rambunctious 2 year old. We ate here twice in the 3 days we were in town and would go back again for sure!

Great, fresh food every time. I had the shrimp and grits and mullet plate, and oh my was it good. The shrimp were huge, delicious, and fried to perfection. The grits were divine. The mullet was fresh and breaded and fried to perfection, very juicy, and you get 2 sides, got Cole slaw and fries, I loved the Cole slaw, and the fries were a perfect complement.

Down from NC on vacation and hubby wanted some local fish. Found Maria’s on Google maps and decided to try it out. Ended up walking in from the fish market side but noticed no fish smell on the grill side of the building which was a plus. Worker who took our order was very friendly, service was quick, and restaurant was clean. Hubby got the local fried mullet which came with way more than we expected, with fries and beans. I tried a piece of mullet and it was great. I got the popcorn shrimp which was also really good. Those cheese grits though were the BOMB! I would have got 2 sides of those if I had known! Hushpuppies had good flavor and the sweet tea was good too. We will definitely stop in again next time we’re down! Price was great too. We got our money’s worth without it being over the top expensive.

So this was a mixed bag. The small restaurant with counter service only is located next to their seafood market. The entrance to the restaurant is on the backside of the building, away from Cervantes.

Food was good. I got the fried grouper sandwich. It came with Lettuce, Tom, pickle, tartar. I also got their homemade onion rings. The breading was nice and light crisp. Only dislike would be that u have to walk through the smelly seafood market to get to the restaurant. I think they could have done something different with that. But overall everything was great.

Excellent and fresh seafood! It is small but very popular. You try, and you will see why. You order at the register and get your own drinks. So far I have not had a bad meal. Grouper nuggets, cheese grits, catfish and grouper sandwich you can’t go wrong with. Expect a wait if you go during lunch or dinner rush. It will be worth it! The bread pudding is very good as well.

Where has this cute little restaurant been all our lives. Away from all the touristy places appeared this gem. It is very clean and the market next to it with fresh seafood was well kept as well. The staff were very sweet and took great care of us. Everyone was extremely hard working and the food came out so fast.

I’m a big fan of the Olde East Hill grill, the food is always excellent and the service is top notch. One of the servers remembered me from a previous visit and was soo warm and welcoming. I got the blackened shrimp with fries and coleslaw and everything was really delicious. I will definitely be back. It’s also a convenient stop if you need to purchase seafood since it’s connected to Maria’s Seafood.
