The chips and salsa were so good (a must for me)

When we asked for recommendations, they told us a few as well as brought out a testing plate of all the variations of mole that they offer( pictured below). I don’t like mole, but I loved the mango and the white mole. My husband loved them all and ordered the white.

Amanda was our server and was phenomenal. All in all, I highly recommend this place and we WILL be back.

We decided to try Maria’s. We were in the area and we have been searching for a Authentic Mexican restaurant. The food was so delicious with great flavors. Everyone was every friendly. Service was great. Our server Alejandro was excellent. Please ask for him to be your server. Will definitely make the trip back!

We decided to invite some friends to go to this restaurant because we’ve had good food and in general, a good experience. Like most Mexican restaurants, they have their own uniquely flavored house salsa and complimentary corn chips. All five of us ordered different things. Pictured are the ground beef enchiladas, smothered burrito, carne asada plate, a taco salad, and a combination platter with a cheese enchilada and taco. We talked about all the dishes. We agreed that each person had a positive experience with the flavor…7.5/10. However, the taco salad had too much liquid at the bottom and made the shell and all the ingredients mushy. She did not finish. The combo platter suffered the same circumstance. The taco was not crispy, when it should’ve been., and it came on a separate plate, but the chile verde was 10/10. The enchiladas were stuffed with the wrong meat. However, upon pointing this out to the waiter, it was quickly remedied, and delicious. I would say as a general rule, this would be a good place to eat. We paid about $15/person, but the quantity of food was good for that price. I have my favorite Mexican place. This isn’t it, but it was good to try out. I would go back. Update….. it’s been about a year and I am more impressed with it now! I ordered the small combination plates. The flavor was spot on. Delicious salsa to boot.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Maria’s Mexican Grill, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish. The restaurant strikes a wonderful balance between a lively atmosphere and a comfortable, welcoming environment, making it a perfect spot for a casual dinner.
The culinary highlight of my visit was the shrimp ceviche. It was a testament to the kitchen’s skill—fresh, vibrant, and perfectly seasoned. The presentation was also top-notch, with the dish looking as good as it tasted. The portion size was just right for a single diner, leaving me satisfied but not overly full.
My server, Perla, was an absolute star. Her attentiveness was exceptional; she seemed to anticipate my needs without being intrusive. I was particularly impressed by how quickly my chips, salsa, and drink arrived, especially since I was quite hungry. The swift service continued with my main course, which arrived promptly despite the restaurant being busy. Perla’s friendly and efficient service significantly enhanced my dining experience.
The restaurant’s ambiance contributed to a relaxed evening. Even though it was a busy night, the noise level remained surprisingly low, allowing for comfortable conversation. The space felt clean and well-kept, adding to the overall sense of comfort.
Finally, the value for money at Maria’s is excellent. The prices for both the food and drinks felt perfectly aligned with the quality of the meal, the fantastic service, and the pleasant atmosphere. Maria’s Mexican Grill is a place I’d gladly recommend and revisit.

This place is not very good. The queso was sweet for some reason, and the rest of the food was just not it. Lacking much flavor.

We are so glad we found Maira’s Mexican Grill while passing through town—it was absolutely AMAZING!

Not only was the food outstanding (truly packed with flavor and cooked to perfection), but they also offered separate gluten-free menus, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated touch for those of us with dietary restrictions.

Their house margarita was delicious—perfectly balanced and refreshing—and the service was just as wonderful as the food. We left full, happy, and already talking about how we wish we had this gem back home!

If you’re in the area, don’t miss this spot. It’s a total win for flavor, hospitality, and accessibility! ️

Good food, but there is a definite price difference between the menu posted on their website online, and the menu you are presented upon arrival. Patrons should expect a $1.50-$2.00 price increase if seeing the menu online beforehand. Advice would be to update your online menu to accurately reflect up-to-date pricing.

Enchilada and smothered burrito were great, but the cheese is more liquid tasting (more like a queso) than melted shredded cheese when cutting and biting into entrees. A little bit disappointed that this Mexican restaurant doesn’t offer a Mexican fries option (locals know what I mean). We were presented with lukewarm crinkle cut fries that I could have baked in my oven at home. Ketchup also was really runny and watered down.

On a decor note: the booths are truly sunken in, so if you don’t like feeling like you are eating on the floor, please opt for a table. I do like the Spanish style decor and the Frida Kahlo artwork!

Would not be my first recommendation for Mexican Restaurants in SLC.

Ate here 07/12/25. Excellent experience. We had the special, crab & shrimp enchiladas w/black beans and rice. We also tried the shredded beef enchiladas in corn tortillas with refried beans and rice. Both dishes came out of the kitchen looking like photos from a cook book! Presentation was so appetizing. The food was delicious! Shredded beef enchiladas had just enough spice heat, but not too hot (yes Im a wimp!). Plenty of shredded beef and cheese. The shrimp & crab enchiladas were equally generous. A tad pricy, but worth it. We will definitely visit Maria’s again!

Our server Aracely was amazing. She was always offering us a big smile and being super helpful and kind. She brought us our drinks and was always tending to see if we needed something. She really showed she cared for us. I came from Florida to eat there. My husband found this place last month when he was in Utah and told me I had to try it. He loves Mole sauce, and he has been super into it since he tried it, so he really likes to eat it when he can. He loves when the sauce is made from scratch and not just from s can. He told me the place was legit and made it from scratch. Today, I took my brother’s family with me, and we had the mango mole, the holy mole, tacos, and chicken salad, and nothing disappointed. We loved every plate. The chips were amazing, the sauce super tasty. The environment was great. I definitely recommend this restaurant, and I would go back there if I was still in Utah.
