Maria’s Café is an absolute gem! Every single dish we ordered was amazing! The flavors were incredible and the portions were HUGE, especially for the great prices. We had the Sopa de Marisco, pupusas, taquitos, and pan de pollo, and everything tasted homemade and full of love.
The owner was so warm and welcoming, and the staff made us feel genuinely cared for from the moment we walked in. It’s a cozy Latin restaurant with a big heart for its customers, and you can feel that in both the service and the food.
I will definitely be returning and recommending this place to everyone. Can’t wait to come back!

Lovely little spot. Came here for lunch, of course we had to get the Birria Tacos which where great as well as the Camarones Entomatados which was a lovely hearty dish. Servings are generous for the price. We can’t wait to come back for breakfast!

Hidden gem alert!
I don’t usually venture past Wheaton Mall when I’m in the area, but today I’m so glad I did. I stopped by Maria’s and got to try their bean and cheese pupusas and plantain empanadas—and wow, what an experience.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and treated amazingly by the cashier. The place was spotless, which is always a huge plus in my book.
Now, let’s get into the food. The pupusas were great—classic, flavorful, and hit all the right notes. But let me tell you… the plantain empanada stole the show. This was authenticity at its finest! The homemade taste was unmatched, and honestly, I haven’t found anything like it in this area.
If you’re looking for a spot with next-level authentic flavors, Maria’s is the place. I’ll definitely be back.

Our favorite restaurant in the area. Amazing Salvadoran food, good drinks, good prices, and super friendly staff.
We love the yuca and chicharon, birria, and lomo soltado. But you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Highly recommend!

First time here. The menu was pretty extensive had good variety. The prices for food are higher, but also in the middle of downtown Wheaton.
The portions were large . We ordered a few things to share and while we were there, Happy hour was one which meant that bottle beers were only $3.
Cocktail drinks were overpriced at $16

Received warm welcome walking in. The staff quickly did the checking and explained the ingredients of the sweet empanada and pupusa. While waiting, found they having interesting table settings for El Salvador and holiday season as well. The sweet empanada was warm and tasted great.

I found out about this place through the owner’s daughter on TikTok. I always said if I was in the area I’d stop by! Today was the day and my, my, my! It was so delicious!! I got the tacos dorado and 2 pupusas (bean and cheese) SO SO SO good. Generous portions so I got to eat it throughout the day. I cannot wait to return!!

Food was so so good. They didn’t get the order completely right, which was likely a miscommunication on my part. Also, they did increase the tip themselves which I didn’t appreciate lol, but the food was really really good.
