We had chilaquiles red and green… the tortilla chips were completely soggy I don’t think they even fried them at all! The rice is flavorless and the bean I am almost sure they were bad I tried them a little and didn’t dare try them again .. thy had an off taste .. the cafe de olla was not de olla! My husband is a heavy cafe de olla drinker and he knows or if it was de olla it just want good …We did have a red tamale To try them out… we were given a microwave days old tamale each …. the ends were hard and crusty bc they microwaved it …. we still ate it they are not bad. Fresh would be even better …. I ordered tres leches mini pancakes… it was 2 leches ! Just lechera (off brand , I could tell ) and whole milk.. that is not tres leches , no whippped cream (which she did made us aware before she made them ) overall we won’t be back , we paid for $62 dollars and left hungry . The place is beautiful, a little cold but the deco is really pretty and pink . Service was very slow as well.. almost 45 min for two chilaquiles .. if food was good I wouldn’t care but i left really disappointed. And the prices from the menu where not the prices on my receipt !
Place was clean and pink. Cute interior Maria and her husband were nice. Cozy is the word.
Food was good and pretty quick. Price was reasaonable. About $8-$12 for most meals you would eat. They also serve mexican coffee ( cinnamon, and piloncillo (raw dark sugar), often with notes of orange, clove, or anise).
Special foods only around on the weekends. Ask for the strawberry tamales. So check them out then too. Tell them I told you.
Only complaint is was a little cold and we were dressed for the outside too. Could be cause just opened for the day. We could have asked them to turn it up.
Ask about the phone.
Their chilaquiles are the best I’ve ever had, and the tamales verdes are packed with flavor. On the weekends, the pozole is a must — rich, hearty, and comforting. The café de olla is perfectly spiced and so satisfying.
I also ordered catering for 76 people, and everyone was raving about the food — not a single complaint, just compliments all around. Maria and her team really know what they’re doing. Highly recommend for both a casual meal and big events!
We had the pozolé, chips w Pico de gallo, & café de Olla. I love the café de Olla because I didn’t have to add anything to it. It was perfect!
