Tasty food. Not all places have crispy tacos, but they do! They are sturdy, too. Doesn’t fall apart after a couple of bites. Also, it’s not common to have fish tacos, but they have it! And not only that, it is sauteed (most places, if they have fish tacos, the fish is breaded and/or fried, which I don’t like). The fish isn’t originally an option for the crispy tacos selection, but I asked and they did it for me. It was good. Side order of guacamole was fresh. Husband had the steak soft tacos. That was a bit greasy. But taco entrees came with beans and rice, standard flavors. Complimentary chips with salsa were a great way to start. The chocolate cake was very very tasty. Decor was festive and fun. The bathroom was clean and even had a cute/clean changing table with diapers. Server was friendly and efficient. Overall, a little pricey, but a cool experience.

My friend and I got together for some good Mexican food. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted by the host/server and sat. It was a dimly lit restaurant. I started with the red sangria, and that was tasty. I was a little disappointed because they had no red wine for my next drink, so stuck with the sangria. For my appetizer, I got the camarones scampi, but it was a garlic shrimp, and it was tasty. My friend had the fiesta platter and I tried it and it was good. We then had the shrimp tacos, which were delicious! For my meal, I got the red snapper, and my friend had the garlic shrimp dish. I really enjoyed the red snapper, and my friend enjoyed the shrimp. We then had the dulce de leche cheesecake, which was good. We really had a good experience!

We discovered this gem of a Mexican restaurant by accident a couple of years ago. Since then it has been an ongoing love affair. Fernando and his team treat you like family! Each dish is more flavorful than the last. You will not be disappointed with the extensive selections available on the menu. They will also do their best to accommodate any special requests. They have amazing sangria. each time we leave, we cannot wait to come back! Thank you Fernando for always treating us like family and providing the best in Mexican cuisine! God Bless Blue & Gold!! God Bless America!! Remember Everyone Deployed Everyday!!

Great atmosphere, good fresh food, friendly service, prices are reasonable, what else would you want?

Update February 2025:
The salsa they offer with the free chips is still weak, but everything else is good

Update November 2023:
The menus are on iPad Minis.
We ordered the nachos with ground beef and I have to say that it was well put together and they used cheese, instead of a cheese sauce, and it just tasted decent.
The food quality was good, didn’t taste like pre-made food that was sitting under a heating element, seemed fresh as you would expect.

They do give you complimentary chips and salsa, however it seemed like the salsa was so mild that it was basically tomato sauce, and that’s honestly the only thing i would ding them on, but everything else was really good so it doesn’t take away from the overall experience.

We’ll definitely come back here!!

Under new ownership and a new name. El Mariachi is now Guacamole restaurant. Tex mex food in downtown Millburn. Festive themed restaurant with plenty of seating. Most tables comfortably fit 4. Food about $18-25 per plate (kids menu $11). Plenty of veg options. Some street parking, or a public lot a short walking distance away.

If you enjoy authentic Mexican food and culture, you will visit this restaurant and support their business. From its hand-painted walls to its delicious, homemade food, you will not be disappointed in the quality and friendliness of the place and owner. We attended for a birthday party — having nachos with guacamole, fresh tortillas in salad and dressing and I ordered vegetarian enchiladas. If your in the area, check them out, you won’t be disappointed!

Tacos weren’t put together so when I opened the package, it was bland looking. Luckily the flavor was better than their appearance once I assembled them myself but it was average at best. The rice and beans were meh, lack of flavor and beans were a bit watery. I enjoyed the chips as a nice surprise. My partner really enjoyed her chimichangas so we’ll give it another shot and I’ll have to try something different.
