I have given this restaurant several passes, but this time I’m done. The service is horrible and for a place that was completely empty, that really surprises me. The Margarita tasted like a slushy from McDonald’s… The bartender who I have seen several times, couldn’t be bothered to see if you wanted another drink. He had his back turned to us the entire time didn’t even say hello… And he’s done this more than once. He was playing with random stuff on the wall like organizing the shelf rather than asking us if we need another drink. It’s best to order on the rocks, but even that is going be nothing but sweet-and-sour. The food is not great. It takes forever to get to you and is cold by the time you get it . Their prices are high and I swear they change how much they’re going to charge you on the fly. I need to go back and look at my bill to see how much of a service charge is on there. The waiter literally came by the table next to me three times because I think they may have been regulars and the only time they came back to my table was when I asked them for my bill. I actually think they want to close down. I don’t think they’re doing anything to stay open. Oh, the other odd thing every time I’ve gone in here the employees have been sitting in the front lobby in the waiting area for guests.. They are all just hanging out or on break. It’s the strangest place and the vibe is all bad. In the bar is in the very back I feel that this place would do better if the bar was in the front it’s just a really weird layou

Made the mistake of going back to see if the place had improved. The busboy I had the problem with was now a waiter and never came to my table. Instead a woman appeared from the back whom I’d never seen before and waited on me. The food was fair, the atmosphere was cold and unfriendly. I regretted going back in there. When I got my check I got charged a “Convenience Fee.” I went out to the lobby and asked the girl what that was. She said she didn’t know. So I didn’t leave a tip. Between the cold reception overall and an owner who encourages his staff to be rude and flippant to its customers, Maria Bonita is seriously off my go to list for good. Geez!

We were regulars there in the 88’s. We moved to Oregon, came back and I remembered this wonderful Mexican restaurant in Agua Dulse, I am so happy we found it again. Their food is excellent, better than I even remembered, also great service and happy people, We live in the high desert now, but taking a little drive to Aqua Dulse is well worth your time . Cheri
