I usually don’t do this but I’m so frustrated with the way I was treated that I figure I’d share my experience and hope the owner takes notice.
I ordered a 20-piece meal for a family member’s birthday and specifically asked for fresh fries when I went to pick up the order. When I got them, they were clearly not fresh. ( some were dark brown and over cooked I’ve worked in the food industry and know what fresh fries should look like or at least taste like). No big deal — I went back in and politely asked again. The second batch was the same, if not worse.
I went back a third time and kindly asked once more for fresh fries. At that point, the girl making them seemed upset and told me, “This is how our fries are.” I explained that I come here often and have never had this issue before. She then said, “This is the type of fries we serve.” I replied that I visit regularly and know they’re usually fresher and never have looked the way when I received them. She mentioned they had another brand of fries, so I said I’d take the other brand this time.
In the end, they were still the same type of fries, just finally made fresh. When she handed them to me, it was with an attitude, but I stayed calm and respectful. The fries were fresh that time, which is all I was asking for from the start.
I’m just not sure why it took going back and forth multiple times to get something I had already paid for. I like coming here and usually have a good experience, so I hope this was just a issue with the worker and not the business. Still left feeling disappointed and disrespected. Establishments like this are what make our community great but the treatment was unnecessary and uncalled for.

I paid over $30 for some mediocre food!!! The salad bar was the only good thing along with the soup they had there. That’s the only thing I would go there for again! My country fried steak was small and wasn’t good at all the Mac n cheese was literally kraft macaroni i feed my kids the mash potatoes were nothing special and everything was expensive could eat at Texas Roadhouse for the same price

Even though they were short-handed, the young employees had a great attitude. This is the second time I have been here, and the chicken was amazing. We also had mac and cheese and corn. They were ok and I will leave it at that. You bet I will come back by and get some more chicken. Oh yeah, I had some jalapeños bombers, and they were good, but one was missing the cheese and jalapeños. But they were good.

Fried pickle chips are amazing. I had the 7 piece chicken tender meal shared with my son and still needed a box to go. Friendly quick service also

This place is excellent. We love the chicken tenders and the white gravy. We have only had takeout but I hear they have a salad bar if you eat there. They are open later than most places so that is nice. Definitely recommend!!

It’s May 4, 2025. Prior to attending the May Feast Dance at the OG Rifle Club, we decided we’d stop at Margie’s for dinner. Big mistake. When you have “chicken” in the business name, you ought to be a pro at making good fried chicken. I ordered the two piece meal. That included a chicken breast (a little dried out) and a drumstick (under-cooked – I couldn’t eat it). For my side, I ordered a side salad. It was plain with lettuce and a few cherry tomatoes. The meal came with a roll (very dry), but no butter. The waitress seemed either inexperienced or inept. My wife ordered the chicken and dumpling soup that came with the chicken and “noodles” but no broth. I’d say that if you are going to eat at this restaurant, stick with the salad bar. Sorry but I can’t even come close to recommending this restaurant to anyone.

Before you read: I’m begging you to go somewhere else, the owners read this review and instead of apologizing for my experience or being reasonable they just replied “nothing in this post is true”. After reading other reviews and seeing some similar reviews to mine, I’m convinced the good reviews are just the staff or friends of the staff boosting sales. Walked in around 11:30 on a Wednesday; maybe 3 other customers, one waiting for an order. Ordered a 3 piece tender meal with fries. Sat down to wait, and was almost immediately given my food. Service was decent, cashier was polite. Before I complain, I’ve gotta say these are the best Ben E. Keith fries I’ve ever had from a mom and pop, and as a chef i know it takes skill to accomplish that. HOWEVER: the speed of delivery is a double edged sword. Yes, I got my food almost immediately, but the chicken has definitely been sitting under a light for at least 45 minutes. The breading was like a slimy paste, not one bit of crunch anywhere and it slid off when I tried to pick it up. The chicken itself had a decent flavor, and was fairly moist, but due to the half missing breading was more like eating a boiled chicken breast with my fingers. My advice would be to slow down on dropping tenders, and keep a closer eye on throw-out timers. Like I said, the chicken itself was my only complaint, but being a fried chicken restaurant that should’ve been the best part of the meal.

This restaurant is clean and quite. I ordered spicy tenders and fries. The order came out in less than 4 or 5 mins and was delicious. I ordered more to go and we shall be back!
