We were so glad we stopped here for dinner as the food was delicious. The shredded beef has great flavor. Our service was a little slow but I think it’s because they were short handed. Everyone helping out was very nice. Salsa was yummy but if you love chips be careful as they will charge you after your second basket and the baskets aren’t that big.

While visiting Lake Tahoe, we decided to have dinner here, and it was very delicious. Plus, the service was great. To be fair, their prices are not cheap, but I honestly expected everything to be “not cheap” in such a popular tourist spot. It was definitely worth it because it is not a small portion. Their drinks were delicious as well. If I ever visit Lake Tahoe again, I am having dinner here again without a doubt.

Hats off to the chefs all the food was fantastic. The shrimp cocktail was seasoned just right and the Asada meat in my tacos was really good meat. My son enjoyed the quesadilla. The service was amazing too. Highly recommended this restaurant. Must try their house margaritas.

We went two nights in a row.

First evening just for margaritas and happy hour – bartender was great and the margaritas were awesome.

Second evening we went for dinner and had a great meal.

Our server, Amber, was amazing. Very attentive, and friendly.
Food was great and we had a great time all around.

Margaritas seems like yet another solid local spot on 89. A bit out of the crowded South Lake Tahoe area — just how we like it. We’re visiting South Lake in a shoulder season so we walked right in at 1pm on a Saturday and we’re seated immediately. The place itself is nothing to write home about, it’s clean enough and has a bit of a ‘Tahoe’ vibe, but almost nothing about it would indicate that it’s a Mexican restaurant.

The bartender was friendly and attentive, bringing chips and salsa right when we were seated. She promptly got our drinks and orders. Service was great. My group and I ordered a couple of combination plates and a steak quesadilla. I thought the shredded beef was pretty good but got mediocre reviews for the chicken and steak fillings.

This was our second time here so it’s definitely worth a trip, and solid food and atmosphere to return. It did seem like multiple people in there at the time of our visited had come often. Overall, the experience is good and solid food. Nothing to write home about and nothing to complain about!

Parking is available and its location is super as you can’t miss this Margaritas sign from the street! Will surely come back here!

Terrible service and there were very few other customers so it’s not like they were super busy. Impossible to get drink or chip refills, had to go to the kitchen to find the waiter to ask for anything. One of the dishes came out with hair in it. They took it back but brought it back to the table way too quickly for them to have remade it.

This place is AMAZING! I usually over rate places however, if your traveling through South Tahoe (even north) it’s way worth the trip. They have an amazing staff, fresh squeezed margaritas. Real asada and a guacamole to die for. (You can buy some to take home) Definitely make this a stop.

Healthy, plant-based, eaters can order the taco tostada, hold the cheese and sour cream. Order yours w/their specialty: fajita peppers. It’s Smokey.

What’s missing? Chili’s‼. Ask them to add jalapeño peppers to make this Om nom nom chompsky pop. They have tapatillo hot sauce too! Just request it.

to be honest, Vegans and vegetarians may be disappointed.

The rice is made in chicken stock. not great for vegetarian meal.

The tostada salad has potential though. Be sure to request yours without m sour cream & cheese if youre vegan. you also need to specify the vegan beans because they are by default made in some kind of lard.

again, ace in the whole: they will substitute fajita style roasted vegetables for the meat that you are avoiding!
