She placed the order with the cook and within minutes the Bloody Maria was ready. The mix had a fresh taste. When served the tamale and taco it has side of two salsa. She explained each to me. The pork tamale was one of the best that I have ever heard. Its hard to beat the TexMex food that I grew up eating. It was perfectly seasoned and moist. Additionally the side of pico de gallo, I could have eaten a bowl full of this due to how fresh it’ preparation – all small diced.
Definitely would recommend and will return.
First, we were out celebrating my 37th birthday yesterday. I didn’t want to really stop here because I remember the last couple times thinking the service was crap and so was the food.
We sat at the bar, I ordered steak nachos and a Mexican coke. For $15 I received a small platter with a few pieces of flavorless steak, some weird “queso” sauce that was also flavorless, probably purchased from Aldi or dollar tree, and a very small amount of bland pico de gallo. No beans. I would’ve been better off getting a nacho bel grande from Taco Bell or just getting some Tostitos cheese dip and chips.
This is a Mexican restaurant! Where’s the pride in flavors and spices?
I also ended up nauseous and throwing up.
The waiter wasn’t awful but not friendly. I said thank you a few times but he just ignored me. No response. But he sure had no issue trying to make eye contact with my husband. Not appropriate, sir.
My husband and I are both very familiar with authentic Mexican food. This is not it. It’s a waste of money. If you want Mexican, not too far away you can go to Zocalos, Conejitos, Chuchos Red Tacos, Taco Stop MKE, heck any food truck on the South Side. You want Tamales, go to El Rey.
I don’t know how this is still in the MKE Market. It’s not good anymore and the staff is rude as others have stated. Please replace this place with Chuchos or Taco Stop. Something good where the people have pride in their cooking.
If you can’t cook, get out of the kitchen!
Much credit to the kitchen for always being on point and fast!
