Started out very bad! We had reservations. Waited at the bar and were seated promptly. Then nothing, nothing for almost 20 minutes. When the waiter finally arrived, he wanted us to order right then, we did not even have a menu! Another 15 minutes later, he brought the menu and asked if we are ready to order now! We had not even had a chance to look at the menu! When we were ready to order, he was nowhere to be found! When he was ready for us, he made fun of me for my choice! We needed a few more minutes to order and he never came back. My husband ordered a glass of wine, it sat at the bar for a long time. We finally had enough and left to the bar to pay our tab there. The bartender was very helpful, made room for us at the bar and even though very busy, gave us great service. The food was okay, but nothing spectacular at all! Overpriced and overrated!

Once you enter this place, everything says high end restaurant. The decor is beautiful and very fancy looking. They also have a large patio which faces directly at the sea. A perfect place to have dinner and watch the sunset. Service is always professional, and attentive. The food can be hit or miss though. Quality of the food is a five star, but we had very salty food, almost every dish was like that. The starter complementary salad seemed like vegetables are old. Very soggy. The bread was a bit on the hard side. Seed it was left out for awhile. The biggest drawback is that the menu price is in USD, and the conversion to peso is much higher than the going rate. If that’s not bad enough, when you pay by credit card, peso is the only form of payment they take.

Absolutely delicious. Our waiter, Gilbert was absolutely awesome. My wife had the blackened grouper over fettuccine Alfredo and I had the shrimp parmigiana. Both were super fresh and delicious. Beautiful views, this place is a 5 out of 5 all day. The focaccia was great and we had a local white wine that was great as well.

Went to the bar for a nightcap and there was a rude grotesque drunk there ruining everyone’s night, including asking my wife if she wanted to go to a strip club

I asked the management and bartender for help and they didn’t care. We will never come back.

Delicious! Attentive staff. Okay this is 3 1/2 hrs from home. And I crave this. We don’t have much time to get away to our beach place but we plan on going this week for a 1 nighter. And 1 reason is my cravings for the Spagetti Carbonara. My husband enjoys the blackened grouper and plans on trying other dishes. I’m sticking with the Carbonara it’s so delicious. The basket of bread and salad before the meal is also delicious. Don’t forget the view at sunset is spectacular.

We love Mare Blu. This is one of our favorite restaurants in puerto Penasco. The filet with mushroom & bacon is so good. The friendliest staff also. It’s nice to have reservations if it’s a weekend or holiday, but you can walk in also.

For what can be considered an elevated dinning experience in Puerto Penasco, Mare Blu is at the top of the list. We usually sit at the bar when dinning. Their staff is attentive, kind and accommodating. The food is consistently delicious and well prepared. You cannot beat the location and the views!
