I had the pleasure of finding Mardi Gras Poboys on a whim when I was looking for something close to my house for my parents and I and I was so delighted from the moment I walked in. The owner was warm and greeted me, he was like an old friend whose house I walked into. The decor and music were on point for the Mardi Gras vibes. His wife (the chef) was learning the register system and took my order, she was so sweet. I got two roast beef poboys, a shrimp poboy, an order of boudin balls and onion rings. The roast beef was incredible, flavorful, beautifully shredded and was juicy! My dad said it reminded him of when he was a young boy in New Orleans, it really brought him back. The shrimp poboy was filled up too, deliciously seasoned and cooked perfectly, only thing is I wish I would’ve gotten the 12 inch! Rookie mistake. There was a generous portion of onion rings fried just right and the boudin balls were good but I found it was a little pricey for only three balls, the sauce was tasty though. I will definitely be back and can’t wait to try more of the menu! The owner told me he does brisket on Saturdays too!

I can here with my friend and I really enjoyed the overall New Orleans atmosphere since I live far from the city. I had the Philly cheesesteak and it was one of the best I’ve had in a while! My friend had a roast beef and she said it had great seasoning and wasn’t soggy like some places. We both shared the crab jalapeño roulettes and they tasted really fresh and cooked well throughout. The staff and owners were very friendly. Will definitely be coming back again!

The husband and wife duo were very friendly and hospitable. The husband took his time and explained the menu items in great detail. The food was scrumptious and freshly cooked. The ambience was inviting. The Boudin balls with the sauce were a winner. The surf and turf Philly was so plentiful that the meat fell off the French bread. I will definitely return for another visit and purchase.

I am so glad my wife and I stopped here for our first time. Hands down one of the best Po’boys I have ever had. Wonderfully kind people, and delicious food! I highly recommend the shrimp po’boy, the hot sausage po’boy and the onion rings. Everything was perfect. Can’t wait to come back for the Brisket on a Friday or Saturday! Thank y’all so much!

I visited this restaurant yesterday. OMG the was restaurant was everything that has been missing in Slidell, LA. The atmosphere was very family orientated & family friendly. No let’s talk about the menu. The menu made me . The prices are very affordable. I wanted one of everything. From the poboys, to the sides, to the desserts. I brought not one but 2 Philly Cheese steak poboys. When I tell you that they did not disappoint. The owners & their son was very inviting & very friendly! This is what I needed after moving from New Orleans. Some real soul in a restaurant….from the place, to amazing food, to the people. The food was well seasoned, nicely stuffed, & prepared. Omg & the poboy bread . I’m definitely going back with my boyfriend, his family, & my family next time. I highly highly recommend.

Came here with my husband and I got the oyster po’boy while he got the roast beef po’boy. We both shared the fries and got bread pudding. The bread pudding was white chocolate flavored and I really enjoyed it with its’ paired white chocolate sauce. The oyster was fried up perfectly as long as the seasoning was super good. The roast beef was perfectly shredded without barely any fat in it. We will be coming back soon!

Mardi Gras Po’boys is an excellent place! I got a fried oyster poboy and it was fantastic! The bread was perfectly soft yet crispy and the oysters were tasty and crispy as well. Everything tasted very fresh and I would 100% recommend it to anybody looking for a good poboy.

I was looking at the reviews before going and we tried a couple things. The Philly was HUGE and full of flavor,I had some of my wife’s roast beef and you can tell they put a lot of love and time in it because it was so tender and seasoned perfectly. So we ordered those crab jalapeño bites and I have to call “bullshit” on someone’s post saying it was fake crab meat.Maam you must not be from New Orleans or surrounding areas because you can tell by the taste and the color that it’s the real deal. They were awesome with a swift kick of spice. We also had egg rolls with a red sauce and that was killa also. The tall guy with the glasses/owner let me try the brisket and I’ll be coming next week to get that with some onion rings.Loved the owners Saints hat.

This place was being hyped up on social media and my Husband wanted to try them and support their business. I’ve lived in Slidell for over 20 years and we pretty much know where to go for good po-boys and seafood. He got the 6 inch catfish po-boy and I got the regular boudin balls and jalepeno crab roulettes. They cut the catfish in half it was like a strip (who does that? Where’s the whole filet?) the boudin balls was ok, but I’ve never seen a deep fried crab roulette then there’s Imitation crab in it those white strings made it look disgusting! And anyone from the city knows how to dress a po-boy what’s up with the 1 tomato,2 pickles and the tea spoon of lettuce ? First impressions are the last impression, money wasted. Going back KENNYS, KEITHS, TIME SAVER near Huntwych.

When I opened it up, I was surprised by the size and amount of shrimp (large). First bite I knew it was gulf shrimp. Do yourself a favor, a sandwich like this deserves to be eaten on the spot, eat it there while it’s still hot. This one of those poboys from back when.
