Deli — Marczyk Fine Foods – Denver’s Favorite Neighborhood Market

Here in the Marczyk deli, we believe in a better sandwich. First, we start with our very own, freshly baked bread made with Colorado flour.

I’m on a layover and I saw that they had a $15 roast beef sandwich. So I thought that I would give it a try and see if it was edible.
It was terrific! Just the right amount of horseradish and pepper jack cheese, and not dried out at all. It’s not that this was a good airport sandwich. This was just a delicious sandwich, period.

I stopped by for a quick meal as I have a connecting flight, and one of the female cashiers attending me was the absolute worst when it came to service.

She was not friendly whatsoever, didn’t crack a single smile and looked like she was miserable. I understand having bad days and the food industry being draining, as I’m a retail worker myself.

However, I was polite and was trying to purchase a sandwich along with one of their to go items. I handed her the to go snack to buy and also ordered their High Country Steak and Cheese sandwiches. I asked if she accepted cash, and she told me yes. So I hand her cash to pay with, but she kept referring to the card transaction device.

I just paid with card to make things easier, but she never rang me up for the to go snack I wanted to buy. I only got my hot sandwich in the end, but I’m frustrated with my unfulfilled order and a worker that does not care less for service.

As for the sandwich itself, super fresh and delicious! I enjoyed my meal, but wish I had the additional Prosciutto and Cheese I wanted to buy, but was denied of because this cashier that doesn’t listen or care for their customers.

Shout out to the hard workers in the kitchen who made my food, though!

I am torn in rating this establishment because the sandwich was good but the unprofessional way they handled my order left a very bad taste in my mouth.

I came when there was no one in line and placed my order. First time here and heard great reviews. The person who took my order asked for my name and ushered me to the waiting area. Everything seemed fine. There were about 6 ppl waiting for their order prior to me.

Long after the ppl had received their orders and left, a slew of more people after me received their order, and having waited for about 20 minutes, I realized my order may have been missed and asked the employee who was handing out the sandwiches about my order. He couldn’t find my order, tried to ask the cashier who took my order but seemed like they were not communicating nor addressing my order. The cashier seemed to be disinterested and somewhere else. More time ensued with awkwardness before he finally said that the would make my order. While I waited another 10 minutes for my sandwich, he finally managed to get the attention of the cashier who took my order and after some more back and forth, the cashier finally looked at me and acknowledged the order I placed and that they literally skipped making my order b/c he couldn’t put my name in the system and they thought it was part of the party before me. I tried being understanding but the way they handled the situation left me feeling very uncomfortable and awkward, like maybe I wasn’t their customer? At the end, I did not get much of an apology , not any effort to make up for their mistake. The It’s amazing how they have a computerized system that queues the orders yet they chose to completely skip my order.

This is an airport and guests need to catch their flights. Fortunately, I had a longer layover otherwise it would have bee worst.

I ordered the ham and Brie sandwich from Marczyk Fine Foods, and I’m still thinking about it. Like… emotionally attached at this point. The ham was perfectly savory, the Brie was creamy and dreamy, and somehow every bite tasted better than the last. I didn’t expect a sandwich to change my mood, but here we are.

On top of that, the customer service was genuinely amazing—friendly, welcoming, and the kind that makes you feel like you’re a regular even if it’s your first time. Prices were totally reasonable for the quality, which honestly feels rare these days.

I’ve passed this place a mini of times driving in the city always wanted to stop but never did. I started working in the airport and finally got the opportunity to stop in. When I first walked in I was greeted by the store manager with friendly conversation and a smile. I ordered a BLT and I can honestly say it did not disappoint. The bacon covered my sandwich and had lettuce and tomato in every bite. My only suggestion is different bread options to be presented for first timers. Thank you for such great service and even better food.

Racist encounter happened here. I’m shocked and disappointed as I have given Marczyks a glowing review in the past. I work for a major airline and come through quite frequently Denver airport. I ordered the awesome Green Chile pork soup and bread. I was given a small soup that I was not used to (i previously had a larger bowl and great service). When I inquired about the size (I would have purchased the larger soup) the employee started that when they run out of bowls that they put it in a larger cup. (Wasn’t sure what that meant because I had a larger bowl before) They went to heat my bread and the employee complained to another employee (my crew member heard him) talking about me, singing the song from The Lion King and making chimp noises. They laughed. I walked over to her and she told me and I immediately asked for a refund and called him out about that unprofessional and racist behavior. He said that he would give me a large soup and I stated I won’t spend my money there. A woman employee came over and yelled that it wasn’t about you and when I told her that my crew heard it, she walked away. I left a message on the vm for James who they said was the manager. (As James in the last visit said to review them and he would look out for me) My coworker that heard it wrote a letter and was told that they would review video and audio. I wrote to the company, waiting on response. Someone did respond to my Yelp review that it’s in progress. Neither of us received the employee discount.
