Experience:
The staff is friendly and this is day 2 for them so they are just getting settled. We ordered and the food did not take long at all to come out. The popcorn chicken is very good. Crisp outer crunch with a tender center and the Thai chili sauce compliments this appetizer dish nicely. Both pork dishes were good. The Lechón had a perfect crunch to it ( not overdone) and for those that eat this alot in other countries I can tell you 1st hand they got this right. I’ve had a similar pork dish in Puerto Rico and I almost lost teeth biting into it. This was great and the pork belly center was flavorful and goes well with the vinegar sauce. The garlic rice was underwhelming. It was luke warm when it came out and just not alot of flavor there. The bobas were excellent and man you have alot to choose from there.
There are alot of things on the menu that we did not try and we will save that for our return visit. This place is good and they will improve on some of the small things over time.
Happy eating everyone!
We tried the bangus silog, sisig silog, leche flan, ube yam, halo halo, and my personal favorite, the chopsuey vegetable dish. Every plate was flavorful, well balanced, and cooked the way it should be. The bangus was perfectly seasoned, the sisig had the right texture and boldness, and the desserts were rich without being overpowering. The halo halo was layered properly and refreshing, not watered down.
From the service to the taste, this is hands down authentic. You can tell it was cooked by someone who truly understands Filipino cuisine. The warmth, the hospitality, the attention to detail, it all felt like home.
Honestly, 10 out of 10. This is easily one of the best Filipino restaurants in Colorado. If you’re in Fort Collins and want real Filipino food done right, Marcuz is the spot
I will say, they are still new and finding their groove. I don’t recommend coming if you are in a hurry. I waited over 30 minutes for a boba, mochi waffle, and Masubi to go. It’s worth the wait, but bring your patience and treat the staff with the respect and kindness they deserve while they are getting acclimated in their new location!
Will absolutely be back and continue to support this awesome establishment!!
Talking to the server (owner?manager?) she even hinted at there being karaoke and stand up nights eventually 😉
