This used to be one of my favorite spots in town for street tacos. In the past their prices were great but recently the prices went up, but unfortunately that was the only thing that went up as far as I can tell. The location hasn’t hardly been upgraded in years. Similar can be said about the customer service. Geographically Marco’s is in a prime location just outside of downtown with a good amount of free parking in the back. There is also some paid street parking and a parking garage across the street!

I asked for no fat in my carnitas burrito and got fat in my carnitas burrito. (There was more than pictured here). The salsas have too much oregano/cumin and not enough chile to make them spicy. And I actually understand why some people think cilantro tastes like soap now. Please wash it better.

Edit: Went back the next day so they could remake the burrito with chorizo (asked for this instead), but again they didn’t add guacamole. Maybe a slice of avocado and that’s it, even though I was still charged for guacamole. Seems like they also added habanero sauce to the chorizo to make it spicy, but burrito was not edible. This was after talking to the manager who was upset with my honest review. He said to ask for habanero sauce since that’s their spicier option next time, and they still gave me the other two green and red salsa as mentioned before with the burrito. Manager was rude over the phone. Asked me “what my problem was” and “what’s wrong with me” after I was told they’d remake the burrito, and so I spoke to them in Spanish to get clarification thinking it was a communication error due to language barrier but he was still rude. Not great service. Clearly not happy, but if that’s the case please offer better service and get your orders right or offer a refund. They refused to give me a refund and appeared to not be happy to remake the burrito even though it was their mistake. They remade the burrito only after questioning me about when I came in, how I placed my order and so on… AFTER they had offered to remake the burrito the day of the mistake and took my name/phone number down. I said I’d probably come in the next day which I did. So the questioning felt unnecessary. If you don’t want bad reviews please treat your customers better.

Edit Day #3:
Your reply is very unprofessional. I’ve never interacted with the manager other than that one time on the phone, and have only been there three times in the last 2 years like I stated in the phone call. And to be fair I was VERY respectful considering how I was being spoken to by a machista manager. But by all means, please keep showing your true colors.

Those reviews about the food making people’s stomachs hurt are very true too. You purposefully remade the burrito drenched in salsa to be petty. Again, very unprofessional.

I have been coming to Marco’s since it was in the Reed Opera House. These days it is horrible, not at all what it once was. The last 3 times I’ve came here they have given me ground beef and orange cheese instead of real steak & mozzarella cheese. Sick of this quality, this is my last time coming here. Sucks to lose a LONG time customer

I live (and usually eat) in Portland, so I was very surprised to find nachos and taco salads on this menu for $5 a piece. I was sure they had to be tiny portions for that price, so I ordered one of each, and was very pleasantly surprised to discover they were both pretty large servings. I wasn’t able to finish both, so I ate half of each, and they were equally tasty, especially for that price.

Whoa! Once I saw the chilaquiles burrito, I had to try it — and it did not disappoint. Drive thru was fast and everything was wrapped well and still hot when I got home. Will be returning to try it some more menu items.

For the price, Marco’s is by far my favorite sit-down spot for tacos in Salem (and beyond!). Their food is the perfect blend of quality, convenience, and affordability. I’ve been coming here religiously ever since they opened and, even though I sadly live in a different city now, I always make a point to get food here when I’m in town.

Good Mexican for quick, reasonably priced street tacos and comfort food. Staff was friendly and helpful for my first visit. Have had better Mexican, though this is above average for the prices. Would add this to the rotation for a night out to get tacos.

Amazing service, clean and friendly staff. The quality of food provided exceeds all expectations. They even sell their salsa, it’s the best in town. Highly recommend Marco’s place.
