We live in the boonies of IF (Think close to Dads on Yellowstone). Recently Marcos Pizza opened on Avalanche and we were so excited. We’ve been ordering from Marcos in Ammon since they opened.
We put in an order today, and though it took a little longer to get delivered due to unforeseen circumstances, we had our order personally delivered by the owner. You simply don’t get that level of service anywhere in the big city.
Love where we live and love our business owners! (Def try their pizza if you haven’t already!)
On their Faces courtesy .the new location is really close within walking distance,
The traditional wings had rubbery skin & the chickens must have been roughed up before shipping to our location because 7 out of the 10 wings had broken bones. The flavor of the sauce was good.
The pizza bowl was simply pizza toppings of a small size pizza in a tray (cheese & toppings) & put in an oven to melt the cheese. Seemed like an odd gimmick that never took off, but they stuck with it anyway. We put this aside & put it over scrambled eggs the next morning & called it a win.
The pizzoli wasn’t too bad.
I’d tell you about the calzone on the menu, but we never got our order for that. Apparently, the button on the screen wasn’t working, so instead of communicating with the kitchen staff, they just skipped it altogether & told us about it at the end when we picked up our food. “But we didn’t charge you for it”.
The pizza itself was OK but not great. Whoever is using the pizza cutter in the back needs more practice. Some pieces were 8 inches wide & 7 inches long and on the other side were 2 inches wide & 3 inches long. We found this amusing & chalked it up as whimsy.
Overall, this was a letdown for us. After letting them know we were first timers & even tipping on a carry out order (hoping for some Razzle Dazzle), it seems there was some kind of issue with everything. I fully get that they just opened this location & there is still ongoing training as there were several black shirts watching every station, but we’ll likely not be going back. The service was friendly, but the food was on par with a Maverick gas station. I’m hoping in time, they can pull it together for other customers.
The place is clean.
Customers in line had reportedly been waiting over 45 minutes with no clear communication from staff about order status or wait times. When the owners arrived (about 15 minutes after I had been there), they ignored customers’ questions and concerns entirely. No updates, no apologies, and no offers of a refund were provided.
To make matters worse, the owners’ children were running around the restaurant, completely unsupervised and out of control, adding to the already chaotic environment.
Between the poor management, lack of communication, and disregard for the customer experience, this was a frustrating and disappointing visit. I won’t be returning.
