This place blew me away. The lasagna was the fluffiest, most comforting dish I’ve had in a long time. The calamari deserves its own shoutout — absolutely FABULOUS. The meatballs were packed with flavor, and the limoncello was a great way to end the meal. An all-around fantastic Italian experience.

Marcolino’s Italia is a great finer dining addition to the Reno Mid-Town area, with a bandwidth of quick bites or main dishes, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The Owners have done a great job renovating the former Rapscallion’s storied site, while keeping its classic stained glass and rich woodwork. It was also nice to see an Owner present and actively involved to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable dining experience. Smart casual dress is suggested.

The restaurant is well suited for a variety of gatherings, whether it’s for business or family meals in a well-lit and immaculate dining area, events in the private rooms, a romantic outing in a private “dining cabin”, or for “after 5” cocktails in a beautiful bar with friends. A fun addition is a new “Speakeasy Room”, with an elegant setting of polished wood and plush furniture, which is perfect for relaxing or for more private conversation. Also look forward to the Summer, when Marcolino’s plans to use a spacious patio area for outside dining & cocktails.

Popular Italian dishes seen on the menu are carefully prepared using fresh ingredients. This was a first-visit, so 4 of us tried a few small plates. The iceberg wedge portion was huge and was easily shared by two diners, and the blue cheese dressing was tasty and not overpowering. The lobster bisque was quite good- creamy without too much butter, and portions of lobster were generous. The limoncello cake for dessert was a favorite- a light cake with a limoncello hint and the swirls of lemon curd fill were perfect.

Another of our group ordered the meatball sandwich, which quickly disappeared despite being a fairly large serving, and a 4th diner ordered the margarita flatbread. The flatbread was oven baked to firmness without scorching, and fresh toppings were cooked just right. They tried a tiramisu dessert which was light and not overly sweet, and the coffee taste was present, but didn’t overtake the taste of their dessert.

Note it can be hard to reach a newly opened restaurant, and both the phone system and website should be upgraded soon. Still, 4 of us got in on the weekend with no problem. Definitely worth a repeat visit!

We enjoyed a decadent and exquisite dining experience here at Marcolino’s for my husband’s 55th birthday. The ambiance is breathtaking in this beautifully restored Reno classic. We couldn’t stop smiling and sharing memories. Every dish was impeccably delicious. The service was top notch. I stopped in to make sure I could get a reservation for our celebration and was introduced to the owner. What a thoroughly delightful individual! Our conversation truly elevated my impression. A master of his craft, this is not just another restaurant – it’s an experience. We’ll definitely be back! From the bottom of my heart, thank you!!

Absolutely amazing food with a warm and inviting ambiance. Highlights were the garlic bread, lasagna and limoncello cake, but all the dishes we had were great. A+

Have had MANY meals here, rest assured each meal gets better EVERY time! Marco & Billy do a grand job of making you feel welcome and their outstanding service is tops. The chefs make each meal with that Old School love like my Nona used to make. God Rest her soul! Our favorites, Lasagna, Fettucine Alfredo, their daily soups, and Eggplant Parmigana. Don’t forget the Garlic Bread & Caesar Salad….and almost for the Limoncello Cake!

Had dinner at Marcolino’s Italia and it was so good! I got the linguini scampi — the pasta was super fresh, the presentation was great, and the portion was huge (definitely needed a box). The bread beforehand was delicious too. I wasn’t planning on getting dessert, but when I saw the limoncello cake walk by… I quickly changed my mind. No regrets there!

The entire atmosphere in this restaurant is warm and inviting. It’s readily noticeable that each dish is crafted with the best freshest ingredients. The portions are very generous and each dish we got was made with care.
The service deserves special praise they were very welcoming without being overbearing and paid attention to detail and the prices are fair.
We will be regulars without question.

Great dinner with wife and friends, the atmosphere was very nice. It was packed on Friday night and there was a crowd growing in the waiting area, luckily for us we had reservations.
The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. They have a bar area, but we didn’t have a chance this time to sit and enjoy a beverage before we were seated.
If you like Italian food this is most worthwhile and enjoyable.

Nice new local gem! Owners have done a great job renovating a classic Reno restaurant into something new while still keeping the feel patrons were used to. The atmosphere, service, and food were all great – All the food tasted fresh, was seasoned well, and cooked perfectly. New businesses trying to get the word out will always have growing pains like parking, phones or website, but they are aware and are working through them, so give them some grace…. Look forward to having more meals here in the future.

Crafting an experience matters in the service industry. I’ve been in the industry for over 10 years. I keep giving this spot a chance, since the food is phenomenal. This establishment has a huge issue with hospitality. They also apparently feel it’s acceptable to ignore guests, and only offer a Happy Hour menu of food at 6pm on a Saturday.
To the owner(s), who I am sure will see this, you have banked on your food being the end all. Standards matter, and you obviously do not value standards. I suppose, most of your prospective cliente will end up at Olive Garden. What a shame.
