I visited on Saturday for a solo date. The café wasn’t as crowded as I had expected, and parking around the neighborhood was easy to find. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The pastries were beautifully displayed, making it hard to choose! I ultimately went for the butter croissant. It was largest croissant I have seen and was good too.
Also, some items can run out quickly, so I’d recommend coming early if you want a wider selection.
Update: You can pre-order the pastries and pick up on the same day >-<

Wow! The croissant was perfect — beautifully layered with airy pockets and that rich French butter aroma. The shop itself is stunningly decorated. It’s a pity I arrived around 2 p.m. both days, and most of the pastries were already sold out. I promise that if I ever visit this city again, I’ll come back early in the morning just for them!

Marc Heu Pâtisserie is pure pastry perfection! I’ve tried their donuts (that luscious cream inside is everything!), berry tarts, chocolate cake, and pistachio cake — and each one is just chef’s kiss amazing. Every bite tastes elegant, balanced, and made with so much care.
What I absolutely love is their attention to detail — from sticking the pastry base to the box so it doesn’t slide around, to the beautiful presentation, the signature bow on the box, and their super friendly staff. You can tell everything is done with love and intention.
And let’s talk about portion size — it’s just right! Enough to completely satisfy your craving without making you feel guilty or overindulged. You walk away happy, not heavy — which is rare in the pastry world.
We ordered the Fraisier cake (7-inch) on Jan 16, and it was incredible. The cake was beautifully made, super fresh, and not overly sweet at all — which is perfect for us. You can really taste the quality of the cream and the strawberries, and the balance of flavors was spot on.
Presentation was stunning (see photos), and it tasted just as good as it looked. This is the kind of dessert you serve when you want to impress guests or treat yourself to something truly special.
If you’re anywhere near St. Paul, do yourself a favor and stop by Marc Heu. It’s a little taste of Paris right here in Minnesota.

Marc Heu Pâtisserie Paris on Selby Ave is a gem in Saint Paul—an upscale yet welcoming bakery that feels like a slice of Paris. The atmosphere is calming, with soft jazz in the background and elegant touches throughout. We arrived at 1:15 pm and nearly everything was sold out, which shows how loved this place is. Only a handful of butter croissants and one chocolate croissant remained. We grabbed the last chocolate croissant ($5.50), a Passionfruit & Raspberry Tart ($12), and a 12 oz lavender & honey latte ($5). Each item was outstanding: the croissant had perfect flaky layers, the tart was stunning and full of vibrant flavor, and the latte was smooth with a lovely floral sweetness. The kind staff packaged our order beautifully in a cake box tied with a silky black ribbon, which made the experience feel extra special. Everything exceeded expectations. Next time, we’ll arrive much earlier in the day to enjoy more of their pastry offerings. A must-visit for lovers of French baking.

Service is awesome. Tart was probably the best tart I’ve had in my life and worth the price. The croissants and other pastries or cookies…meh. Not worth the hype or the price when very close by is another bakery that will leave you feeling ROSEy. As a professional baker and a laminated dough aficionado…I’d say try one croissant here then keep hunting for perfection elsewhere. We found them dry amd chewy from this location and from a couple cafes who also sold their products.

Greetings, the two cup pastries we’re pretty good. But the chocolate pistachio croissants , croissant was really dry and old it may be because the it was setting out no rapper no cover. Also they have a outdoor patio with umbrellas. You will have a hard time parking.

Great pastry! We tried the Chocolate Croissant and the one with mushroom stuffing. Both were great. The price is very reasonable compared with other coffee shops I’ve tried. The POS did not ask for tips, which is great. Would definitely return if I’m in the Saint Paul area.

I stopped in here a few weeks ago and tried a pan au chocolat. Parking was also relatively easy to find on the various side streets. Upon entering, I was taken away by how aesthetically pleasing their baked goods looked. Especially the croissants! I initially wanted to try one of their raspberry lemon tarts but ended up pivoting to a pan au chocolat.
The pan au chocolat was the size of a small baby’s head. It had a nice cross section and it was soft and pillowy. It was just a tad cold and didn’t have any crunch to it. I felt like I was just looking for a little more oomph. I arrived right when they opened, but I still felt like it could’ve been sitting around for a bit. The chairs were surprisingly more comfortable than they looked as well. Cool little spot but your experience could vary.
