Down the shore dishes, close to home location! The seafood is fresh, and they have both traditional dishes and new twists on old favorites. The pan seared scallops and shrimp in lobster risotto was packed with flavor, and with big pieces of lobster! The restaurant was cozy, staff friendly, and prices were reasonable.

Our first visit was amazing! Seated near the bar table for 4- reservations through open table. The service was excellent with the most attentive and knowledgeable staff member who knew every detail about every menu item. His recommendations were excellent! The best manhattan clam chowder soup ( we also took 3 quarts to go!), delicious blue point oysters( specials- fresh!), crispy lettuce with the best Caesar salad dressing ( light and not a heavy cream). The seafood ( crab legs and scallops) were spot on and so fresh. The rewards program is such a bonus and met a lovely couple at the next table who was celebrating a birthday and brought a birthday coupon and visits frequently to the restaurant.
The location is a hidden gem and we will definitely be back!

Marblehead Chowder House is a seafood restaurant located on William Penn Hwy. in Easton. It’s open every day 11 AM – 9 PM.

This spot had been on my radar for quite some time, so I was happy to finally make it in. The experience was enjoyable, though it didn’t quite meet the expectations I had going in.

I started with clams casino, fried calamari, and baked French onion soup. The clams casino was satisfying, but the calamari was undercooked. The baked French onion soup was perfectly hot, rich, and cheesy, definitely the standout of the three.

For my entree I ordered the pan seared shrimp and scallops with lobster risotto. The dish was slightly greasy, but it remained well-balanced and indulgently flavorful overall.

Service was definitely on the slower side. That said, I’m never in a rush dining out, so it wasn’t a big deal for me.

I lived in New England for 25 years, and had some really great seafood, but this place is very good. We went there for my husband’s birthday. We both had a selection of oysters as an appetizer, which were fresh and delicious. I had to have their seafood chowder, which has white fish as well as clams. Then I ordered a whole lobster and he had a mixed, broiled seafood platter. They were very good, but a little bit overcooked, and dry. The waiter was very friendly and attentive, and we had a great time.

Everyone i know who goes to Marblehead Chowderhouse, loves it. It’s one of those very few places that everyone who goes there loves it. I’ve been here at least 40 times. The food is always excellent and fresh. The menu is creative and constantly changing except for the house favorites. The staff is always on point and attentive. I’ve never had a bad waiter/waitress here. Indeed, many of the staff have been there a long time. One waitress works there with her mother and her sister. The owners must engender loyalty amongst their staff for people to stay that long. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves surf and turf. When my Uncle comes to visit, he loves to go here for the seafood and he’s from Long Ialand where fresh seafood is a staple.
When I’m with family, we like to eat in the dining room, but when I’m with my younger friends, we prefer the social interaction in the bar room.

We returned after many years. While the place and the service remain excellent, the food was disappointing.
The Lobster Bisque had an odd cheesy taste, the broiled seafood combo was so heavily seasoned that the actual seafood flavor was lost, and although the Cioppino had plenty of seafood, the tomato broth was bland—it looked and tasted like overcooked pasta.
The French onion soup was good.
Overall, a letdown.
