On an unexpected drive from key west, I found this place by chance, and am so happy that I stopped! I haven’t had a bagel this good since I left New York 20 years ago! I’m not sure why they thought it was a good idea to even try and serve me this sandwich. It was such a mess all the topping were on the bottom of the barely even there bottom bun. It was soggy. My ten year old could more effort and pride behind that sandwich. The bread was thin the fork I was give was almost thicker.

On our way out from Key West my teenager started asking about food and we found this bagel shop. The menu has a lot of variety with bagels, wraps, bowls, etc. We ordered toasted asiago and sesame bagels with plain cream cheese. A silly person might say it’s too much cream cheese but it was the perfect amount and so yummy. It’s a busy place in the morning and by the time we left there was a line out the door and the phone didn’t stop ringing for phone in orders. We would stop for breakfast again if in the area.

Absolutely terrible experience. The bagels didn’t even taste like bagels, they were more like plain bread. The strawberry cream cheese was completely lacking in flavor, and the cinnamon roll cream cheese was awful, totally tasteless, like plain cream cheese with no hint of cinnamon or sweetness. I asked for my bagel toasted, and it came out burnt. Unbelievably disappointing. Easily the worst bagel place I’ve ever been to.

Three stars today because I drove there to buy bagels, and despite a closing time of 2 pm, the store was already closed when I got there at 1:45 pm. I mean, really?
I don’t know if this was a one-off or not, but if you’re going there don’t go to close to closing time or you may be going home empty-handed.

I love breakfast. It’s my most favorite meal of the day. So I went to Marathon Bagel Co. – Islamorada. There’s plenty to choose from here. A lot of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. I went with the Belly Buster! This wasn’t on the regular menu. Instead, it was listed on the chaulk board next to the counter. What a great breakfast sandwich! You choose your Bagel. I went with sesame. Then they pile on cheese, bacon, hasbrowns, sausage, and 2 eggs. I needed some hot sauce, and they happened to have little packets of tobasco. First of all the bagels here are fresh and delicious. The texture is perfect. Soft on the inside and a little chew on the outside. If anything, you could just get a bunch of Bagels and eat them. They’re good. The rest of the sandwich was a perfect hangover type meal. The coffee was a breakfast blend type. Mild but goes with breakfast. Very clean restaurant and clean bathrooms. There is plenty of space to eat in or take it to go. Friendly staff and a very short wait for the food. This is one of the great breakfast places you need to try while in Islamorada. Thanks for the experience!
