Almost didn’t want to post a review because this place is so good I wanted to keep it my secret. From the moment I walked in it was great, staff was friendly and happy to help seat us.

We ordered the mar y tierra appetizer which was amazing! The first bite of guac. with chicharone was orgasmic, and every bite after was heaven. Then came the ceviche which was perfectly seasoned and so fresh.

Omg I totally forgot about the chips and salsa that was so good I wanted to drink it.

After that were the fajitas which had fresh bell pepper, soft (again perfectly seasoned) meat that was so juicy I couldn’t leave it on the plate and used the rice to soak it up.

Next was callo de hacha that had the perfect amount of spice and was so flavorful.

Everything was perfect and definitely tasted like I had stepped into a restaurant in Mazatlan. If you’re looking for food-escape staycation definitely try out Mar y Tierra

Bigger on the inside. Many seating options. Festive decorations. Friendly staff. Awesome food and drink selections. Full bar. Large screen TV showed a tennis game.

We’re so lucky to have this great restaurant in our neighborhood! Every dish we’ve tried has been consistently good, the ambiance is very warm and welcoming, and the seating is very comfortable and spacious. Mari was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely appreciative, which made our experience even better.

Cool new place that I kept getting $1 taco Sunday ads for online, so I had to check it out with a friend.

I had no idea coming in that it was a whole cabaret club style place, what a surprise. As expected, the ambiance is fantastic – they did an incredible job. They have shows every night at 8pm apparently, with Michael Jackson Madonna, Moulin Rouge, Christina Aguilera, and other very interesting and classy and interesting choices. While we didn’t try the drinks, they look well crafted.

As for the food, the food menu is pretty thin. I know there were many other items on it that weren’t on the one that I saw, like steak and flautas. However, we had the $1 tacos and tried all meats, the nachos, and the folded quesadilla.

Everything was really good but not knock your socks off. Solid 8/10.

Tacos – chorizo is by far the best. The chicken was shockingly tender. The steak was good but not standout.

Quesadilla – good size and weight as you’d hope for $17. I’d get it without pico de gallo personally.

Nachos – really large. Nice fresh ingredients. Good steak. Would prefer a better distribution of ingredients though, and more sour cream.

Anyway I think the food is a 4/5 but the ambiance, service, and fact that something this cool is in such an unexpected area knocks it to a 5.

Went here for the first time with my wife and we had a great time. We ended up getting the chicharon with guacamole as an appetizer and it was delicious and fresh the chicharron was crunchy! I had a michelada which was perfectly made my wife had the mai tai and it was boozy which I really love.My wife got the sushi which she liked. Overall I can’t wait to try more of their delicious food next time I go. Would definitely recommend!!

Sherry oldies but goodies
We were there on a Friday night and were greeted by a server right away. She was bubbly and very friendly. The seating is very comfortable and spacious. The menu was quite expansive, and it has the most vibrant pictures of the meals. It took me forever to decide! I ended up having the carne asada. The steak was juicy, very flavorful, and the homemade tortillas were outstanding. My friend had Mexican sushi, that was also very good. The atmosphere was outstanding. I hesitated going there due to some of the reviews. IGNORE the 1/2 star reviews. The service was excellent. The manager even came over and asked how everything was and chatted for a while. He went through a lot to get that place opened! The city sure makes it hard!! They have lots of specials, weekdays and weekends. We had $8 double margaritas! $1 Taco’s on Tuesdays, etc. Can’t wait to go back!

Stopped in by chance while I was waiting for some photo enlargements at Walgreens across the street. I’m very glad I did.

First, the place looks like a little, dinky place from the outside. I was expecting a couple of tables at most. I was happily surprised that the place is much larger. Plenty of high tops in the full bar area (I love a great tequila selection) with TVs and a dining area that features a gigantic TV. Perfect for watching sports.

I thought I’d test them out by ordering carnitas street tacos and a house margarita. Everything was delicious. Well made and presented. Fresh ingredients, too.

Unfortunately, I didn’t take any photos, sorry. I was hungry! lol

Their homemade chips were very good and the salsa was also fresh. It wasn’t hot, so I’ll have to ask for a hotter salsa next time.

I ended up having two of the house margaritas which were not from a mix (I was paying attention). Half the rim was salted. Very professionally made. I was very happy to learn that their house margarita isn’t made with Cuervo (yuck). It’s made with Los Cabos. Not familiar with it, but it made a tasty margarita.

I was there after 2pm, so the house margaritas were at happy hour prices ($5).

The bartender/hostess/waitress was very nice and attentive. I wonder if she’s one of the owners. Instead of staring at her phone during her down time, she was cleaning the wrought iron railing inside. I mean, she was cleaning all the fancy patterns by hand. Very impressive. Don’t see that much anymore.

Highly recommend this hidden gem. If the rest of their menu is as good as what I had, you’ll enjoy a great meal, drinks, and atmosphere.

While I didn’t spend much time there on my first visit, I will absolutely be back when I’m in town next.

A cool beach themed Mexican restaurant with a huge menu. Just scrolling through the menu can take 10 minutes. Everything was amazing. Fresh chips, perfectly prepared seafood. The Mexican sushi is a must have. We will be coming back often.

There is good, and then there is bad. Last night we visited this new Mexican restaurant in town. Pulling up and looking in the window should have been enough to turn us away. You could fire a cannon in there and hit nothing. There were jut 3 tables with patrons.

The place looks like a converted bar with the old stage for live band torn out at the back. The decor was minimal and nothing inviting.

The menu looked promising with its colorful pictures and descriptions but that was the highlight. ALL of the food was substandard and poorly cooked. No need to go into details.

The service was the icing on the cake. It was incredibly slow. Meals, when they did come out were one at a time. There were four of us so imagine how that played out for a group trying to have dinner together. The last dish never made it to the table. I canceled it since everyone else had finished. The manager said it was due to short staffing but there were only maybe 10 patrons in the whole place. I’d hate to think what would happen if the place was full.

It’s unfortunate as I always hope new places succeed but cross this one off your list and save your money for a better deserving restaurant.
