Social Profile:

Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant is located in a one-of-a-kind setting amidst one hundred year old Buttonwood trees. Tables are located just feet from the water allowing guests a front row view of local marine life and shore birds. The restaurant is situated on land that has been in service to the fishing community since the early 1900s serving as a fish camp and restaurant along the way. Though most of the old structures have since been claimed by age and nature, you will feel like you have taken a step back in time to the old Florida vibe that takes relaxation to a new level. The menu features a variety of seafood, farm-to-table creations and other unexpected dishes that rotate seasonally.

Rustic seafood spot in an early-1900s beach house with an Old Florida vibe & patio views.

We dined inside since it was the middle of the day in July, but they have beautiful outdoor seating options as well. The tuna poke was delicious, my husband had the fish tacos and sun has the burger. We all cleared our plates. Our server was also great and on top of everything. The only are of improvement would be the margarita I had.

Stopped here on a whim and will say it was great. My food was fresh and tasty – ordered Mahi sandwich that was excellent. Everyone also ordered food that they shared was very delicious. Must say this place is a must stop when looking got fresh seafood at reasonable prices.

First time visit to Mar Vista during a vacation stay at Zota Beach Resort. The gulf bay/beach front dinner environment was beautiful with lights strung throughout a grove of trees/tables on the water. Both casual and romantic. The food, both appetizers and entrees, were equally delicious and the server very attentive.

The new building is really nice and there is complementary valet parking. Our waitress was exceptional and probably the best waitress I’ve ever had. It seems busy but the way the tables are set it didn’t feel too crowded and we couldn’t hear what other people were talking about. They also had misters to keep you cool outside. I thought the watermelon gazpacho was genius and very flavorful!

Ate there a few days ago on a late Friday evening, so was able to immediately get a table since it was an hour before closing. Unfortunately the table was under one of their ceiling fans that was set on high. We were able to move to another location with no problem. I was okay with the blast of air, but my wife and friend were not.

Valet parking only for this restaurant at the end of a residential road. I had the burrata salad with heirloom tomatoes and a pesto sauce which was very tasty. I added blackened grouper, cooked and seasoned perfectly. My husband enjoyed the Mahi Mahi with a side of fries. Margaritas were delicious. What really makes this spot unique and encourages you to linger though is the location. Under cloudy skies, we took a chance and asked for a table under the live oaks and near the gently lapping waves of the bay. The temperature was comfortable with a light breeze. After our meal, we saw two sea horses from the pier.
