This was my first time going to Matteo’s. I went with my husband for a night in SLC before the Jazz game. The new Chase sapphire reserve credit card gives dining credits and this is one of the select locations. That’s what brought us here and I’m so glad it did!!

The service was amazing and our waiter took very good care of us. It was the perfect amount of checking in but not being overbearing. I didn’t take pictures of everything but some things that’s stood out were the Lasagna, focaccia bread, caesar salad and chocolate mousse dessert.

The restaurant had great lighting and felt like the perfect date night location!

I absolutely loved my experience at Matteo! Our server, Brenda, was so much fun and so knowledgeable. I got the vodka pasta which was just absolutely wonderful. The brownie tiramisu and the cheesecake were to die for. I will absolutely come back here again!

We had our anniversary dinner here and Hayden and Eric made our evening so special! The service was incredible from start to finish. Eric has an incredible attention to detail and you can tell he loves what he does. Our server, Hayden, was really attentive and gave great food/dessert suggestions. As for the food, it was delicious! My husband’s favorite dish was the prime beef hanger, and mine was the bluefin. (Although the churros were to die for) Overall, this is a great restaurant and we can’t wait to go back!

An incredible experience from start to finish!
The food was outstanding full of bold, authentic, and creative flavors.
Highlights included the perfectly cooked octopus, flavorful house sausages, the tender elk loin with a delicious berry demi-glace, and the unforgettable Grandma’s Bread Pudding to finish. The Malbec paired beautifully with everything. What truly made the night special was our server, Car kind, attentive, and full of excellent recommendations. We’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I had a fabulous tasting menu dinner in the individual yurts just outside the restaurant on the sixth floor patio of the Hyatt Regency overlooking a stunning sunset skyline. Executive Chef Tyson Peterson had selected his favorite dishes for the evening, including fresh bread from his grandmother’s 100 year-old sourdough starter, delicious sautéed garlic shrimp, crispy brussel sprouts with pomegranate honey and bacon, fresh local rainbow trout with hazelnut crust, local elk loin with blackberry demi and mashed potatoes, and his grandmother’s amazing bread pudding. We had a chance to meet Chef Tyson in our private yurt and hear about his connections to the dishes from his growing up fishing in the local streams and hunting elk in Utah. He is passionate about fusing the tastes of Spanish cuisine with interesting fresh local ingredients. Hannah and the rest of the team provided terrific service, recommending wine pairings and introducing each of the dishes with lots of detail. We highly recommend Mar Munyana for the food, service, and ambiance!

I took my wife for her birthday and booked a globe. We also had the chef tasting menu. (I myself am a chef so I tend to be very picky). The food was brilliantly planned, cooked, and makes you question how such pairings can match together. I have never had elk that I didn’t think had that “game flavor” over power until I tasted the elk here. The Blackberry Demi and Sage Crumb were brilliant. It took the game element completely out and I can say it is the first time I enjoyed elk. My wife absolutely loved the shrimp and the banana gelato. There was not one thing we tasted that we did not enjoy. Our server was amazing and attentive the entire time. The host went the extra mile. It truly was a wonderful experience. Hands down and easily a top 5 restaurant in Utah in my opinion.

We tried the Boujee Upgrade, and it didn’t really feel special. It was okay overall, but definitely pricey for what you get. The globe experience itself was nice and unique, which was a highlight of the visit, but the food fell short. The shrimp in particular were not very good at all, and the dishes we tried didn’t quite meet expectations.

Everything was incredible! We tried the ribeye, Spanish sausage, sourdough bread, and churros. 10/10 for everything! Great flavors and the service was amazing as well. You get a nice view of the city and it feels really cozy and intimate— perfect for a date night or casual get together.

What An outstanding evening from start to finish. Carlos, the maître d’, set the tone for a memorable experience, and the entire team from the chef to the bartender (Perfect Old Fashioned), delivered attentive and knowledgeable service.

The food was, Perfection. The elk loin, hanger steak, and the house funeral croquettes were all beautifully prepared and packed with flavor. Easily the best meal we’ve had in Utah so far.

Mar | Muntanya pairs great food with sweeping views, friendly staff, and convenient downtown access with public parking next door or valet at the hotel. A place that will definitely bring us back.

Went because a friend recommended it as a good place to grab a bite and I was honestly so pleasantly surprised. The food was absolutely delicious, everything we ordered was so flavorful. What really took the experience over the top was the service. Our server, Hayden was exceptional! He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we sat down. He gave great recommendations and checked in just the right amount. You can tell when someone truly enjoys what they do and it made the whole experience even better. Will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to others!
