What a lovely place! I spent a night there and needed some good coffee and I found one. It’s the hidden gem for sure where many people came in. I ordered only a black coffee but I really enjoyed the hospitality of the team and the vibes. I really need to go back there! Love it!!

What a delightful neighborhood coffee shop. It’s quaint, lively, and the right atmosphere for both outdoor and indoor seating. We are lucky to have such a wonderful place nearby.

I tried to buy coffee here with my dog but an employee told me no dogs were allowed inside. I put him in my car and went back in line, only for a customer to chastise me about my dog and talk about him dying from heat. It was not that hot. I tried to ignore her since I literally was just here to buy coffee and enjoy my day, not get Karen’d, but the same employee backed her up and asked me to roll down a window because I was now “making people uncomfortable.” I decided to leave since I already complied once with his request and felt like more hoops were put in front of me just to be allowed to wait in line here. Someone went “oh thank God” as I got in my car. My dog was fine and everyone seemed to be overreacting. Customer base and employee seem to be some weird suburban white mob over the “safety and concern” for my dog. I understand seeing something and speaking up, but there really was no issue and just seemed like a way to gang up and have a power trip on me. Maybe they thought they were protecting my dog and saving him from the evil neglectful owner? Response was not proportional to the situation and I was not treated with dignity or respect here. This was a while ago but my student email was deleted so my review was deleted too. Typing this again.

This is one of my favorite places to get coffee/tea/treats in Portland. They have both non vegan and vegan option, and the treats are always delicious. Parking can be scarce, but I recommend carpooling with a friend, and enjoy the indoor/ourdoor small town coffeehouse vibes.

A delightful find. Stopped by for a drink and we were pleasantly surprised by the menu and plentiful seating. We were instantly greeted by the scent of something delicious in the air.
Customer service was top notch, friendly smiles and helpful to newcomers. I had the ginger peach tea and it was very satisfying and flavorful. We didn’t know that they had food and we had already eaten elsewhere but next time we’ll stop by and try their menu items. The food looked so good. I can’t wait to go back.

It is very comfortable; I can see why customers enjoy the space as a place for inspiration and ideas for their work and art.
This is a GREAT place to meet for a first date in the day time. It’s romantic and has a variety of seating options inside and out.
We even saw friendly little flower bouquets available on the front steps ; )

There’s a walking trail head nearby as well.

We didn’t have any trouble finding parking but keep in mind that it is nestled in a residential neighborhood so you might need to walk a block or two on busy days. But that’s ok. Walking is good for you.

Update: we went back and both tried the garden bagel. It was delicious. The micro greens complimented all of the other flavors and textures perfectly.

My wife and I stumbled upon this place and such a cute and friendly coffee shop. Was so cozy, best breakfast sandwich and chocolate banana cake. Great coffee as well and the staff was so friendly. Would highly recommend this place and we’ll be back again and again.

I love maplewood coffee! It is such a cute little converted house in the neighborhood. The food is always fresh and delicious, and their coffee and tea selections are great. The staff is also very kind and accommodating. The only con is they get busy very fast. I would recommend going on a weekday over a weekend.

Cozy little cafe tucked away that’s perfect for locals. Clean and plenty of seating. Food is fresh and made with quality ingredients. Great selection of in house baked pastries (would come back just for these). And of course great coffee.

The two times I’ve been here, the baristas just assume everyone’s a regular and knows the layout of their shop so they don’t offer much information or assistance. I asked for a recommendation the second time but ended up working with the barista to imitate the “dirty chai” I typically order from Starbucks. I got a snobby attitude and the baristas commentating on the 3 drink orders I placed the entire time they made them. I’m not sure if they consider themselves coffee connoisseurs or frown at the mention of Starbucks coffee but I was surprised by the attitude and personal opinions shared amongst the baristas as a coffee lover that supports multitudes of coffee shops wherever I venture. My drink orders included a matcha with vanilla, dirty chai with a light roast espresso shot and an Americano with 3 shots of espresso to imitate a drip coffee.

I ordered soup, breakfast potatoes, and two drinks, which totaled over $40 already on the higher end for a coffee shop. The drinks came out quickly and were excellent, but the food took about 40 minutes to arrive. Even if items are made from scratch, that’s a much longer wait than expected, especially considering one of the dishes was just soup. When the food finally came, it was tasty and seemed high quality, but the portion sizes were surprisingly small for the price. Overall we left annoyed, great drinks and good flavors, but the value and timing didn’t match the cost. With faster service or more generous portions, it could’ve been a much better experience. Don’t come here if your in a rush
