A special evening- Valentine’s Day dinner with wonderful friends. My Olde Fashioned drink was fantastic. Red wine ordered for the table was very nice. Appetizer of fried was perfect and flavorful. My wife had veal and I had scallops. Both were excellent. Food is the strength of Maples, all the times we have been here.
The New York style cheesecake was a bit of a disappointment as it was not very creamy. But the flavor was good and the strawberry helped give it moisture.
The service was quite subpar for a restaurant striving to build up its customer base. The food quality is present , but there needs to be additional training in menu knowledge, table clearing, and other basics such as water refilling and checking on customer needs, and letting us know that food is delayed but “on the way in a few minutes!”.
No question we will return.

We visited on a very slow night. The staff was very nice but very slow. I ordered the house chips to be served a plate of Lays or similar plain potato chips. I asked our waitress if they were indeed house made and she said she saw them taking them out of the fryer the day before so they should be fresh. We couldn’t pay the full bill and leave soon enough. Our waitress never returned so we could pay the bill. We won’t be returning.

We have eaten at the Maples restaurant and Tavern several times this summer and early fall. The food is very good! Service is prompt and friendly. The wine selection is small, but well chosen. Dress is casual as you’ll sometimes see golfers dining directly after their game. Really, this restaurant is a hidden gem in the Laurel Fork/ Meadows of Dan area in beautiful southwest Virginia. I highly recommend Maples! Enjoy!

My Boyfriend and I ate at restaurant last night the food was good going in we even had heard a lot great thing about this place and read the reviews was excited to go eat at Maples HOWEVER we could not make it home before he started get sweetie and violently throwing up and could not make it to the bathroom before thing started to explode. He has been sick ever since So you should think twice before eating here at this restaurant

Blackened chicken Alfredo hit the spot.

Second night’s dinner – Pimento Cheese Burger with upgrade of onion rings. Great Suggestion by the bar tender, I forgot to ask for his name.

I got the scallops special and a bread basket to go with it I. Called ahead and the food was ready when I arrived. It was warm and ready to eat when I got home. The meal was incredible. The sauce added so much flavor to the scallops and angel hair pasta. The sun dried tomatoes added a tangy surprise. The bread basket had several kinds of rolls that were fresh and warm. It was a great meal. We’re so fortunate to have a restaurant like a maples in our neighborhood. The view overlooking the huge lake on the golf course is beautiful, too.

Very beautiful scenery and most excellent service. Steaks were over cooked and not very hot. I would try it again due to service and atmosphere. It’s located really close to the Blue Ridge Parkway
