The French onion burger needed an onion roll or a chibata roll but also very good. Was impressed with the food and our waitress [Kristi] was wonderful. Fantastic old building that was kept true to form.
Food was exceptional. I had the Western Burger with a swap to baked potato instead of fries. Crunchy shell, with butter and salt, soooo perfect!
I chose a canned IPA because a burger needs a beer. I made note of the creative and interesting cocktail choices and may try on my next visit. Maddie, our server, was intuitive, prompt and friendly. She checked back on us and made sure our visit was a good one.
The owner/manager was on site and fully engaged, making sure things rolled right, while still finding time to chat with customers.
Can’t wait to go back! These folks are doing it right!
Upon arrival the parking is a little funky. It’s kind of a free for all with no specific designated parking area.
We were greeted immediately after walking in and seated promptly. We were the only table seated.
We ordered drinks and Bang Bang Shrimp for an appetizer. The shrimp had a kick but not overly spicy. They came with Bleu cheese. Probably our favorite of the night.
For the entrees, we ordered the Charlie’s Burger and a cheese steak. The burger wasn’t impressive. It had a weird taste and no grill flavor. I believe it was baked or pan fried. The grove boasts the ambience of grilled meats behind the bar. It smelled delicious outside like a grill when we left. Maybe the grill isn’t turned on until a certain time. It also wasn’t fresh or handmade, frozen.
The cheese steak was alright. It came with red sauce on it.
The cocktails were good and priced reasonable.
By the time we left I think all the tables were taken.
The atmosphere is decent and a nice touch with the fireplace. The flooring does not go with the decor.
Overall it was good experience and will likely go again. The food was priced appropriately and is nice and local.
I will definitely be back❤️❤️
Today everyone was happy with the food and great service. Lisa did a fantastic job serving us and taking care of all my special dietary needs.
I still can’t believe I was able to get broiled salmon, 2 sides, AND a salad for under $20!!! Thank you Maple Grove! I appreciate you.
Just in case you plan to come here for a special dinner please keep in mind the parking lot is still dirt and some gravel. If it’s wet it’ll be muddy. Leave your heels and fancy shoes at home. And be aware when you back out of your parking space that no car is behind you. Someone made their parking space and I almost backed into them. Fortunately since it’s on a corner there are 2 entrances. I had to back out the other way and leave using the Fairchild entrance. If you can walk park in back.
The French fries and sweet potato fries are yummy. The crab cakes are really big and delicious. They do have peppers in them. The Greek salad is huge and really good. The salmon is good. Green beans are tender and crisp not smothered and mushy. The wraps are good and the burger I saw on the way out is huge. Several of us appreciated the decanter of pretzels provided on the tables.
