We entered the restaurant around 9:30 pm, very hungry and realised the place closes at 10 pm. Yet, the allowed us in and waited till finished our last bite. It was 10:30 ish. And the food was served hot and fresh. Yummy too Absolutely loved their spinach chaat and Paneer tikka

I had one of the best buffets I’ve found in the South Bay, and it was really affordable. They had a great variety of options, including at least 3-4 vegetarian main courses, 3-4 starters, and 3 desserts. Everything was prepared really well, and honestly, there wasn’t a single dish I didn’t enjoy.
Kulfi was the best.

I started coming here because of the unique monthly specials — beet + cream balls, pineapple & beet-root chat, honey chili lotus stem, etc. Many unique dishes I haven’t seen elsewhere, often some fusion of western + Indian style. Lot more unique options compared to other Indian restaurants nearby.

Since I live around the corner from here, I started coming here more often for their lunch buffet when I’m working from home and don’t feel like cooking. It’s a large variety of vegetarian and meat entrees, salad, fruit, and Indian sweets, and great value (all-you-care-to-eat for just $20). After coming a couple times they throw in occasional freebies too – a free soda or lassi, etc.

Service and presentation were both good, but the food was disappointing.
The tandoori chicken tasted more baked than grilled — it wasn’t tender at all, which made me wonder if it even saw the tandoor.
The goat biryani was just plain meat and rice, completely lacking in flavor or spices.
Also, note that the Passport discount only applies if you order curries, so no tandoori, and other stuffs.

I had that early evening hunger pangs, but since we had a late dinner planned, I needed a quick fix. I saw lamb chops on the Mantra menu—which is totally my weakness—so I just walked right in. The chops were just okay, but the tikkis were good, and the old-fashioned was surprisingly great.

I ended up eating way more than I should have, so dinner had to be light, but it was worth it! Nice service and a good vibe, too.

The only complaint I have is the seating — the booth is not exactly comfortable. But the quality/variety of food … I have been to several Indian buffet places, this is one of the few that I would like to visit often.
Went again, and was pleasantly surprised by new dishes. The staff proudly stated they change buffet menu every day, bravo!
Highlight(July 31 visit): shrimp curry, lamb curry, aromatic goat biryani

Excellent ambience. We had the chicken curry and goat curry, both were absolutely excellent. Must visit if you are craving Indian food

Mantra India is one of the best Indian restaurants in Mountain View! The food is consistently flavorful, with rich curries, tender tandoori, and perfectly spiced biryanis. The lunch buffet offers a wide variety of vegetarian and meat dishes, making it a great way to sample different flavors.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a modern yet cozy feel. Service is attentive and friendly, even during busy hours. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portions, and it’s a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions.

I went with my friend, and we loved the buffet!
With a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, fresh naan on the table, and very respectful staff, there are many choices to suit every taste. We will come back here!

I got take out this time. I’ve been there before. Atmosphere is fine. But don’t get take out. Got the salmon platter listed as their monthly specials. $26 for 3 small pieces of salmon, a cup of coconut rice, and some raw veggies. No potato dumplings. They gave us chutney but what for if we don’t have the dumplings.
