The seasoning on the mapo tofu and the cabbage was a little too heavy. The flavor of the pork belly was good but the meat was chewy and might have been overcooked. We did like the shrimp and vermicelli dish. It was balanced and the shrimp had a nice texture.
Overall we spent about 30 dollars per person at this restaurant. I think given the quality of the dishes and the quantity, other Chinese restaurants in the area might be of better value.
Atmosphere is excellent here and very fancy indeed. It’s a fusion restaurant so it’s fancy modern and a little bit classical as well.
Food is good even though it is pricy it can be spicy too but I understand it’s hunanese.
Karaoke is a thing here too so you can find whatever songs you want.
Only thing I don’t like is that you have to order on a tablet which is kind of difficult to use
I ordered the spicy chicken gizzards but I didn’t know it’d be so finely chopped and it was a bit salty, so it didn’t meet expectations, but still good with rice. I also got Janghu stir fried pork accidentally, but it’s ok because tried a new food, though it was a bit salty too.
My mom ordered sweet and sour fish and it’s the same sauce as on sweet and sour chicken so very familiar and nice to eat.
Haven’t had too many bingsu in Rochester but the previous one I had was $15, so this $8 bingsu was the right size and decent price as far as I know. The mango sago dessert is not aesthetic like the picture but tasted good.
I will be back to try the cold dishes and maybe my rating might increase, but overall today, it’s not amazing as a 4*.
