Leave it to a place like this to ruin your day. I’ve lived in Wethersfield my entire life and have shopped here regularly. It was convenient and clean. Last night I went there to purchase wine, beer, and liquor for holiday giving. The usual guy takes my debit card and gives me a receipt for $125 and change. Note: this place **never** offers or gives a receipt unless the customer requests one. I think to myself, that’s pretty high for two six packs of beer, two bottles of wine, and a bottle of liquor. BUT, I think, I’ll check the receipt when I get home. When I got home and inspected the receipt I noted that it is NOT itemized, it just says $125 paid. So I go online and see the Connecticut prices of what I bought. I WAS FURIOUS — I called the store and asked them to tell me what they charge for the few items I bought. The guy on the phone says that they MISTAKENLY charged me twice for everything. So I get back in the car, drive back to the store, they issued a refund and took back their goods.
BOTTOM LINE — these places that don’t give receipts are suspect. I AM NEVER GOING BACK to a place that rips you off, then inconveniences you to make it right. You’ll notice in the photos that none of the products are listed.

I only buy alcohol as gifts for other people, so I cant comment on whether their price are reasonable, but the customer service was on point, very friendly and even wrapped the bottle of wine in decorative foil and ribbon for me at no additional cost. It did seem a bit cluttered, like the amount of merchandise would benefit from a bigger space and everything didn’t have prices obviously labeled.

For a liquor store this place is fair. It’s not the best place to go, but it’ll do in most situations. I’ve never had much luck with asking the staff for anything. They never seem to know what’s in the store or where it is. That being said, if you know what you want and can find it yourself then it’s perfectly fine.

This place is filthy, dusty, and plain disgusting. I wouldn’t buy nothing there. The dust and filth on the bottles of wine and vodka on the racks are deplorable. And you have to check the dates on the beer or liquor because it may be no good, and they sell expired liquor.
