Manny’s Restaurant of Kansas City is truly a family-owned and operated business. For 43 years Manny’s has been serving authentic family recipes prepared fresh daily with the freshest ingredients. Starting as just a 50 seat restaurant which was just the Bar Area in today’s restaurant, Manny’s Restaurant has grown to 350 seats. Manny’s Restaurant owns the entire building at its iconic location on the corner of 20th and Southwest Boulevard. The space not being used to seat walk-in patrons has been converted to private dining areas.

The food was pretty good. The servings were huge. It’s probably one of the better shrimp fajitas I’ve had. The meal only came with beans, which I thought was odd most Mexican restaurants automatically serve the combo. I had to order a side of rice separately. The salsa was very bland.

THE CHIPS AND QUESO ARE PERFECT!!!! The chips are light and crispy and the queso is the perfect amount of creamy. I got street pork tacos and they made me cry because they were so good. The margaritas are very well made and the workers are nice

Manny’s has always been one of our go-to places for Mexican. Never a disappointment: staff is super friendly, entrees are consistently excellent and served hot and fresh. And the guacamole is WONDERFUL! They are busy because they are sooo good! The atmosphere is perfect for Mexican food, and my only complaint is lack of convenient parking.

A couple years ago we had dinner here the place was awesome. We’ve been talking about it ever since, we were finally able to come back for the a Margarita and some tacos. It was disappointing and not up to our hype we had set. We will not be back after this trip. We ordered a pitcher of Margaritas and some queso and 2 tacos. Everything was meh!! Not that much flavor in the margarita or the taco. The order of Queso was very delicious.

Used to love Manny’s. It has really went down hill. Rude staff. We put our names on the wait list and they said they wouldn’t seat us until the entire party was there but they did not even add us to the list intil then. We waited additional 30 minutes after everone arrived. Two of our orders were wrong and we sat at the bar. There is no alcohol in the margaritas. Split a picher with a girlfriend and I will assure you there was no alcohol. Its a shame that a restaurant that used to be so good has gone down so bad. Aweful customer service. That was probably the worst part. They don’t care if you don’t come back. I bet the owners fo though.

Servers need to be educated on how to do checks instead of accusing people of trying to dine and dash while they’re with their family. Why would anyone try to do that after already being handed a receipt, paying for the meal, being handed back the receipt and leaving a generous tip. Only for the waitress to come barging out screaming and cussing because she can’t seem to figure out how to do checks right. Management should have handled this better. Should have asked for my previous receipt back and taken back the tip. Terrible, terrible service, maybe find a new line of work if you can’t figure out how to do simple transactions. Food was subpar anyways not ever worth a trip back. I’m sure we’re not the first time she did that. Another part of our party was also overcharged. Ordered one meal and a drink and she charged him 47 dollars. As he asked why she gave no justification. Funny how when she came out with the new ticket screaming and hollering it was also for 47 dollars.

Manny’s was super awesome!! We had a fabulous Groom’s/Rehearsal dinner there and we were on the upper floor. The food, service, and the entire staff were top notch. We ordered off a special group menu with great selections. Food was prompt, hot, and delicious. Again, the staff were amazing. Our bartender was the best ever. She went over and beyond with our group, even went to find coffee for our party. Cannot sat enough wonderful things about Manny’s .. thank you so very much!!!!

Went on a weekday for lunch. I was disappointed in the food, which is surprising because this place always seems busy and has a good reputation. The salsa seemed more like thin tomato sauce (even the spicy kind) and my fajitas were soggy. At most Mexican places, they come out sizzling on cast iron, and these were on a plastic plate. Didn’t seem that fresh, even though we were there right at noon.
