Manning’s Farmhouse Ice Cream Shoppe Wyoming Avenue in Kingston, PA, is a no frills establishment. The utilitarian atmosphere, however, is more than compensated by delicious homemade ice cream and very friendly service. When a lot of the local ice cream stands shut down after Labor Day, Manning’s is there to feed the denial that summer in NOT almost over. In fact, the shop is open all year to satisfy your ice cream fix.
We arrived at approximately 7:30 p.m. on a Friday evening and were greeted by two young ladies behind the counter who were very personable. It took a few minutes to go over the menu, which featured over 30 different flavors of ice cream and five frozen yogurts. We settled on a large bowl of apple crisp and a medium chocolate peanut butter on a waffle cone, before settling ourselves at one of two indoor tables.
The ice cream was very creamy and flavorful. The apple crisp came with tiny chunks of apple with what appeared to be crushed graham crackers. The chocolate peanut butter was well-balanced.
In addition to individual servings, one can also purchase one-half gallons containers of select flavors, ice cream cakes, and milkshakes.
Manning’s Farmhouse Ice Cream Shoppe is a must if one is an ice cream fan. Located next to Lino’s Pizza and Restaurant, it would be a perfect place to stop by for a decadent dessert.

Without a doubt, the absolute best ice cream around NEPA. I don’t know why I haven’t given Manning’s a shout-out sooner. We just tried the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle ice-cream and it’s out of this world. And while you’re trying it, check out the ingredients – top notch.

This place is amazing! It’s a local Dairy, they have milk in the milk case as well as over 30 different flavors of ice cream, all kinds of toppings wet and dry and when I say you get your money’s worth with the scoops you really do! I got chocolate almond cherry a medium in a cup – it’s like three scoops of ice cream smashed into one container! You have to stop there it’s on Wyoming Avenue in Kingston next to Lino’s Pizzeria on the corner of Wyoming Ave and Union Street you will not be disappointed

We consider ourselves ice cream fanatics and we are regulars at Manning’s. I believe the real taste test is a company’s vanilla. It’s not my favorite flavor- but there is nothing to hide or cover up flaws. Their vanilla and most other flavors which I have tested are delicious. Definitely in my top ten all time ice cream shops. The staff is super friendly and serve generous portions. If it’s in stock, the caramel truffle is top notch.
