I was recently at Manley’s Tavern and had a really disappointing experience.
The food was decent overall, but a lot of it was overcooked and the portions were smaller than expected. Nothing terrible, but nothing great either.
The bigger issue was the service. Our server Yancy was flat out unpleasant. From the moment we arrived, it was obvious she was unhappy that our group showed up, even though the place was nearly empty when we got there around 8 PM. She was rude at every interaction and never once smiled. You could feel the irritation coming off her the entire time.
We have a long standing tradition of doing a shot ski, and her reaction to that was openly hostile. I actually don’t mind a bartender who’s gritty or no nonsense, but there’s a big difference between that and just being rude. Unfortunately, this crossed that line.
The place itself also feels like it’s stuck in the past. No updates, no real sense that anyone is trying to improve or grow the experience. That’s a shame, because Manley’s used to be a classic stop for people heading up or down the mountain.
Hopefully next time the service is better, because right now it feels like this place has lost what once made it special.

The employees here are awesome the service we received here was nothing short of being phenomenal the food was delicious and the customer service was even better I highly recommend this place and definitely will be returning if in Portland again

We were out hunting and stopped in for dinner.
I always heard how good the chicken was but looked at the menu on how expensive it was and we passed.
I got gizzards, finger steaks and my fiance got a hamburger. Everything was overcooked, not fresh.
The gizzards and finger steaks were chewy, especially the gizzards. It was absolutely terrible.
We both had bad heartburn and upset stomachs for a day or two. After speaking to some of the locals they all said the same thing. The food has definitely gone downhill.
Service was good, drinks are expensive. Cash only Is ridiculous. Will not be returning.

I had fish and chips, my husband had gizzards. Both dishes were good. It was Veterans Day so they have my husband extra gizzards, he is a vet. The atmosphere is always relaxing. We even got free fried cauliflower. It was really good to.

Best broasted chicken and jojos ever!!!! They have delicious horseradish mustard to go with it and you can even take some home in a jar too! They also havr 2 pool tables that are always open when I’ve been. Good customer service too. 🙂 A must stop if you are driving through on 58 or having a ski day at Willamette Pass!

The outside is pretty plain, driving by I wouldn’t have registered this as a place to make a pit stop, but we got a local recommendation and went looking for it. Excellent fried chicken and JoJo’s in a mountain bar atmosphere. Note that it is cash only.

I usually don’t like to ride bad reviews, so I’m just going to say I wasn’t happy with the meal or the service. The reason I’m getting four stars is for the effort, but I’m not going to be going back there are recommending this place to anyone. Little sad because has great location and big potential.
