This place went viral and has been busy all day. The estimated wait time was 1 hour, but we were seated within 30 min. Time went by quickly as we sat outside watching the planes take off and land. Perfect place for kids to see planes.

The country fried steak is AMAZING! Best I’ve had anywhere near here. The burger was good if you like plain cheeseburgers, but mayonnaise/ketchup/mustard in any combination would have made it much better. Ask about their new menu.

I had a waitress named Janice. It was packed and we didn’t get to see her that much, she was so kind. Like a sweet auntie that you only see once a year.

Couldn’t recommend enough! I have no words to say how happy I am to have found this spot. I took my bf for Valentine’s day since he likes planes. While we waiting for our table we where watching planes take off and come in.Service I believe name Janice was very welcoming, sweet and made our experience even better. All food look delish! I asked for Chilaquiles and I have to admit is the best I’ve had in the IE 10/10 we will be coming back!

Really cool diner style cafe with views of Mt Baldy and small planes taking off. Unique breakfast / lunch experience for the family. We had the chili relleno omlette and the french toast and it was fantastic. 100% would go again.

I’ve been here 3 times now and I must recommend they do something about the waitress Charlie (brown tall woman). I have never seen someone in service treat customers the way she does. The second time I went there, I was with a friend who uses a wheelchair and I went to go see what seating was like on the patio and she snapped at me “You wait for us to seat you!!” Other staff look mortified. The third time, I saw her berate a full table of customers who were getting impatient bc the kitchen was slow that morning. She literally put her hands in their faces. I thought the first time was just a bad day but this seems to be a pattern. I likely won’t go back which is unfortunate because the food is good.

Came here on a Friday morning for a late breakfast. We sat outside and got to watch the planes come and go. Even though it’s been hot, it was quite comfortable underneath their outdoor fans.

I got the spicy sausage breakfast with tots & sourdough toast. Pretty good, 8/10. Friend got the chicken fried steak with hash browns w/ biscuit + gravy. He loved it. 2 meals, 2 drinks, $40. Only bummer, the tater tots tasted a little freezer burn.

Well, Maniac Mike’s has done it again! Absolutely picture perfect breakfast this morning. They are so wonderful. Amazing service, delicious food, wonderful environment chock full of airplanes and pilot chatter. I’ve been here so many times, and it’s always great. Thank you Maniac Mike’s and all the great people working here!

I absolutely love stopping by Maniac Mike’s Café. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for breakfast or lunch with friends and family. The food is consistently fresh, hearty, and delicious, whether you are ordering classic breakfast favorites like omelets and pancakes or enjoying a tasty lunch. The portions are generous, and you can tell everything is made with care.

What makes this spot truly special is the unique location right by the runway. Sitting outside with a great cup of coffee while watching small planes take off and land turns any meal into a fun and memorable experience.

Under the new management, the service has been absolutely outstanding. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming every time. You can feel the pride and care they put into both the food and the customer experience. Everything runs smoothly even during busy hours, and the energy of the place feels refreshed and elevated. If you have not been yet, this hidden gem is well worth the visit. Highly recommended and I will definitely be back.

I’ve dined at the cafe multiple times – always great! But, the “Lost and Found” sunglasses review(s) made me giggle. Perhaps if these sunglasses were so important it wouldn’t have taken 2 1/2 months for a “local resident” to take 5 minutes of your day to go pick them up. Just sayin’. No business should have to be held responsible for the “safe keeping” of an item that clearly doesn’t hold any real importance.

This place is special.

If this was in Los Angeles, you’d pay an arm and a leg for the novelty of being able to sit and eat while watching planes land and take off around every 5 minutes.

But since this is outside of L.A. and an actual cafe at an actual small airport that real pilots use to stop by for a quick bite, the prices are reasonable, the food is decent, and it isn’t swarming with crowds.

In fact, if I hadn’t come across a YouTube video about this place by an Upland native, I wouldn’t have ever even known about it since it is a little out of the way.

But that’s also what prevents it from being so touristy.

So even at the risk of making this place more touristy and crowded by praising it and telling people it’s worth checking out, I’m doing just that.

Wife and I used to frequent here. Tina and her staff were amazing and hospitable. We even went as far as having our wedding reception here. However, new management is far from welcoming. We left our Tom Ford sunglasses there and instead of the staff being helpful with my wife, she was greeted with rudeness. We understand it’s our fault about the missing items. However since then, we made multiple contacts with the manager in which it was left upfront for us. As Upland residents, we will not be coming back due to the lack of empathy and the overall personality change of the establishment.
