The country fried steak is AMAZING! Best I’ve had anywhere near here. The burger was good if you like plain cheeseburgers, but mayonnaise/ketchup/mustard in any combination would have made it much better. Ask about their new menu.
I had a waitress named Janice. It was packed and we didn’t get to see her that much, she was so kind. Like a sweet auntie that you only see once a year.
I’ve been here 3 times now and I must recommend they do something about the waitress Charlie (brown tall woman). I have never seen someone in service treat customers the way she does. The second time I went there, I was with a friend who uses a wheelchair and I went to go see what seating was like on the patio and she snapped at me “You wait for us to seat you!!” Other staff look mortified. The third time, I saw her berate a full table of customers who were getting impatient bc the kitchen was slow that morning. She literally put her hands in their faces. I thought the first time was just a bad day but this seems to be a pattern. I likely won’t go back which is unfortunate because the food is good.

Came here on a Friday morning for a late breakfast. We sat outside and got to watch the planes come and go. Even though it’s been hot, it was quite comfortable underneath their outdoor fans.
I got the spicy sausage breakfast with tots & sourdough toast. Pretty good, 8/10. Friend got the chicken fried steak with hash browns w/ biscuit + gravy. He loved it. 2 meals, 2 drinks, $40. Only bummer, the tater tots tasted a little freezer burn.
What makes this spot truly special is the unique location right by the runway. Sitting outside with a great cup of coffee while watching small planes take off and land turns any meal into a fun and memorable experience.
Under the new management, the service has been absolutely outstanding. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming every time. You can feel the pride and care they put into both the food and the customer experience. Everything runs smoothly even during busy hours, and the energy of the place feels refreshed and elevated. If you have not been yet, this hidden gem is well worth the visit. Highly recommended and I will definitely be back.
If this was in Los Angeles, you’d pay an arm and a leg for the novelty of being able to sit and eat while watching planes land and take off around every 5 minutes.
But since this is outside of L.A. and an actual cafe at an actual small airport that real pilots use to stop by for a quick bite, the prices are reasonable, the food is decent, and it isn’t swarming with crowds.
In fact, if I hadn’t come across a YouTube video about this place by an Upland native, I wouldn’t have ever even known about it since it is a little out of the way.
But that’s also what prevents it from being so touristy.
So even at the risk of making this place more touristy and crowded by praising it and telling people it’s worth checking out, I’m doing just that.
