While visiting Loch Ness, we randomly discovered Mangrove while searching for Indian food — and honestly, it turned out to be the best decision of our trip!
The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors, and every dish tasted freshly prepared. The service was just as wonderful — a special thanks to Nisa for being so kind, warm, and attentive. She truly made us feel welcome.
The only small downside was that the portion sizes felt a bit limited, but the taste and overall experience more than made up for it. Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants we’ve tried in Scotland. Highly recommended!

We were booked for a Saturday evening. It was 6pm and the place was reasonably full. I had chicken Korma and a very nice portion. The staff were very nice and we were served quickly. This is a popular place and very central in Inverness, less than five minutes from the bus station.

Staff were super friendly and very attentive. Service was amazing. Food was Ok’ish. Chapati was machine made, but the staff informed us about it upfront before ordering. Staff specifically made Indian style tea for us even though they didn’t have Masala chai. Beautiful ambiance. Minimum £15 spend per person. Neat toilet. Only 2 minutes walk from multi level car park.

Certainly one of the best tasting curries I’ve had in a long time – this restaurant has a great feel about it and the food was impeccable. Value for money was excellent for a centre-of-town curry house.
There were issues along the way with wait times etc but the staff were amazing and kept us updated, and sorted it all out at the bill too. Cannot fault the experience, definitely would recommend a visit.

Stopped off here for a meal on a Saturday evening. Firstly, the place was really busy and we were lucky to get a table. The menu is very Decent. I had the mixed tikka platter, which was amazingly tasty and a huge portion. My partner had chicken korma; very flavoursome. Despite being busy, service was very quick. They don’t serve alcohol, but you can take your own and the charge £2pp corkage! Really loved this place and it is thoroughly recommended. 5/5.

The service was also very poor as we waited for about 40 mins for our food to be served.
In my opinion this is very high prized for the service and food.
You should look for some other place.

Mangroove is a welcome find near Inverness Station, especially if you’re craving Indian flavours in the Highlands. The menu is impressive with lots of great choices, and the pricing is very fair for what you get. The ambience is standout — warm, modern, and inviting — easily one of the nicest atmospheres among Indian dining options in the area.
The food is enjoyable and satisfying, though the quality isn’t quite at the level of authentic Indian restaurants in bigger cities, which is understandable given the location. Still, compared to other nearby spots like Love Dosa, there is room for improvement in flavour depth and cooking precision. True food lovers may notice that the dishes don’t hit that perfect balance of spices and richness just yet.
That said, it’s still a good spot with lots of potential, and I’m genuinely glad to have Indian food available here in the Highlands. The value matches the quality and portion sizes, but to truly shine long-term, a bit of refinement in authenticity and execution would make a world of difference.
I hope the restaurant continues to grow and enhances its flavours — the foundation is strong, and with just a little more focus, it could become a standout Indian dining destination in Inverness. ✨

I have no difficulty with this review whatsoever. I had been told this year that my problems with food came down to a wheat allergy and I really didn’t want to be one of those people. I’m a foodie, so I just didn’t want to go out to eat anymore. Then my friends told me about this place and OMG! They get it! Couldn’t be better! They know more than me! All that worry has gone away. Beautiful food, attentive staff and I don’t feel embarrassed to say anything anymore.5 stars!
