Oh wow! We stumbled upon this absolutely delightful spot after a morning at the beach and two disappointing “almost” encounters (waaayyy slow seating at other spots, with no good reason). We arrived about 2 and were seated immediately.
The atmosphere is lovely, with just enough music to not be overwhelmed with it.
The Old Fashioneds were absolute perfection-made just right.
The shrimp tacos were fresh, generous with the shrimp and very flavorful.
The grilled chicken sandwich was tasty and filling. The steak fries-mmmm. Hot and crispy!
Service was on point-swift, unobtrusive and we left very happy.
Thanks for a great experience!

My girls and I went here for a birthday celebration this past Saturday (02.28.26) we waited about 45 minutes to be seat. We were told no reservations are allowed. Once it was our turn, host was kind and greeted us. The sever we, took her a few mintues to come to the table once we were seated. She didn’t introduced herself to the group and seem to be very standoffish and gave a vibe that she didn’t like her job. When we were ready to order, it was made known right away we were all separe checks, she seemed annoyed when it was told. Once we got our food, she didn’t really check in with us. The food was amazing! I got the Mexican rolls ( best ones I’ve had thus far) and Thai fried rice, the portions are amazing, I shared my rice with two other people. I would definitely go again with my partner for date night.

First time eating here and let me tell you,as soon as you walk in you know you’re in an amazing establishment. Greeted 1st thing and went to the bar and was warmly welcomed by Amy. Who not only greets you with an amazing smile but gave us the best recommendations for drinks and food. She made the best drinks and was able to chat with us and walk us through the menu. Decided on one of the bowls and was blown away. Can’t wait to come by and try all the items on the menu. And hopefully try some more amazing drinks from the spectacular bartender

Still on their soft open. First Arnold Palmer out of the gun. Nice digs, well appointed. Fairly full menu, and spirit offerings. Parking nearby, outside seating, inside booths and bar.
What is not to like?

So excited to have a top tier Asian spot in Dunedin. The volcano roll was over the top. Best I ever had. Which is saying a lot. The bar team- Amy and Jason were incredible.
Couldn’t be happier if there’s a place like this in Dunedin.

Beautiful vibes with a large menu selection! Some appetizers were better than others (get the Lao spring rolls!!), but overall cannot go wrong with any selection

Just stopped by the new Mangosteen location in Dunedin and had an awesome experience, largely thanks to Amy behind the bar! She’s an incredible mixologist—her cocktails are creative, balanced, and packed with tropical Asian-inspired flair that fits the restaurant’s vibe perfectly. But what really stood out was how welcoming and fun she is. Amy has that natural people-person energy that makes sitting at the bar feel special and relaxed, like you’re chatting with a friend while enjoying great drinks and bites. The place is fresh, modern, and already feels like a Dunedin gem. If you’re in the area, head to the bar and ask for Amy—you won’t be disappointed. Congrats on the new spot, and keep shining, Amy!

Jason was beyond accommodating! Told him what we liked and he was a wizard! Great drinks. Pad Thai was the best I have ever had. Chicken satay was a generous portion of two pieces of chicken. This place is new. Please keep up the amazing work!

Mangosteens Restaurant on Broadway, the eatery that replaced Cara Cara, IS AMAZING!. Wife and I enjoyed dinner there Friday evening. The inside seating had a wait but outside, at the time we were seated, was only half filled.
The Red Curry had just the correct amount of spice and the Drunken Noodles was a feast to be enjoyed.
The only thing better than the meal was the service. Sierra, the server, was fun to talk too, recommended 4 items along with an appetizer, which the duck dumplings were also very tasty.
The meal was delivered to the table by Vion and his wife Vivan. We had met Vion earlier in the week when we stopped in to check out the menu at their soft opening.
The menu is abundent with choices, which presented a problem, lots to choose from. Thank you Sierra for your suggestions.

Mangosteens is not to be missed.
