5/5 stars. Manglar Bar and Restaurant is a hidden gem at the end of the road Mixed ceviche was fresh and zesty. Mahi-Mahi tacos were a winner. The off-menu bacon cheeseburger (ask for it!) with octopus and jumbo shrimp? Sublime. Service was top-notch, even in an empty house. Pineapple and passionfruit slushies were the perfect chill companion. Can’t wait to be back

Great spot all the way at the northern end of Jaco, past the main street. Atmosphere hits the nail right on the head, great vibe. Jocelyn was our server and she was great, helping explaining the menu and even helping us find an item that wasn’t listed anymore. The food was all very tasty and portions are generous. Also they treated us to a couple of rounds of a spicy pineapple shot which is a nice touch. Prices are very fair for what you get, stacks up well against other nearby restaurants for value, for sure!

CEVICHE CEVICHE CEVICHE. And of course our friend and server Minor. I wish I had more photos but my phone didn’t get the chance to eat first. Truly the best lunch and service we experienced in Jacó. The mixed ceviche was hands down the best, and the passion fruit margaritas are an absolute must.
Thank you for having my mom and me for such a special lunch. We talked about it the entire rest of our trip and will absolutely be back if we return to beautiful Costa Rica.

Today we tried El Manglar and it was absolutely fantastic. The service was truly some of the best we have ever received in Costa Rica. The waitstaff were incredibly attentive, warm, and professional — we never had to wait for anything. They were always right there when we needed something, making the entire experience feel effortless and welcoming.
The food was absolutely delicious. The tuna sashimi was incredible, so fresh and flavorful, and the burger was outstanding as well. Every dish we tried was clearly prepared with great care and quality ingredients.
The atmosphere is also beautiful — warm, inviting, and such a lovely place to relax and enjoy a great meal. It instantly became one of my favorite restaurants in the Central Pacific.
We were honestly mind-blown by both the food quality and the exceptional service. We can’t wait to return and try more from the menu. Highly recommended!

That octopus was something else! Tacos was great too. Great vibes. Great food. Good service. Fun host. Can highly recommend! If you’re into seafood, go knock yourself out!

Finally got to have dinner here and we weren’t disappointed. This was recommended by many of the locals and we were thrilled. The fish was fresh and prepared perfectly – came paired with veggies and mashed potatoes. My only complaint was their idea of mashed potatoes was actually a cold dollop – as in one tablespoon full. Had to order a side which of course they charged extra for but it was hot and plentiful. Hubby had the Mongolian beef bowl which was large and very tasty. Also enjoyed the Sangria and Coconut flan. Danielo was an excellent server. The ambiance was wonderful, lighting, deco and music was perfect. We will definitely add this to our regular places and look forward to trying other dishes.

Atmosphere and service was great. Unfortunately the special seafood plater for 2 is just over cooked in our humble opinion. The lobster and shrimps were great but the rest of the plate we did not enjoy as much. The burger, nachos and steak were good. All in all, great place but a bit pricy for what we got.

Beautiful restaurant. Staying in Jacó for 6 nights staying in Jacó and visited twice. The best food in Jacó. Antonio was our waiter on both visits. He was welcoming and very knowledgable of the menu and wine list. Overall excellent choice if your looking for a special evening and fabulous food with great service. Just ask for Antonio.
