First time here. My HS friends wanted to meet up for dinner so they chose Manguamo. I’m glad they did. Had reservations for 6pm. On a Wednesday night for 5 people. No wait at all. We decided to sit outside to take advantage of the beautiful views and Tradewinds.

Mangiamo is located at the Navy and Marine Corp golf course off Nimitz (don’t need to be military to eat there). Parking was easy enough. Mangiamo is located on the second floor. We chose inside seating however seating is available on the lanai and overlooks the course towards the airport and Nimitz. Food was good (originally I wanted the prime rib but they were out so I settled on the ribeye that was cooked just right while the missus got the chicken alfredo and my son the cheese pizza) and the service was great. On Sundays, kids eat free from the keiki menu, with the purchase of an entree.

I hope this review is seen by management or owner. My husband and I went into Mangiamo by 604 at 2:30-3:00 on Father’s Day. We wanted to just have some appetizers and a salad before shopping. We walked into the restaurant, there wasn’t anyone at the hostess stand and being the restaurant wasn’t busy, we knew we could sit at the bar, usually, no problem.

Delicious!!! Definitely will be back! Easy access from the parking, the bar lounge looks very good maybe not to busy because of the location, but it’s well set up. Tables and privacy is a star giving, food comes on time even when busy, decoration and ambiance is nice and related to the concept. Menu is also very tenting, was not easy to decide because everything sounded delicious and for fact at where! Prices are $$ some places in other areas would charge higher for same or less portions.

Was a little rough in the beginning, waited 30min beyond reservation time but got better with the server (Veronica) and I think the manager (Rob). The atmosphere was nice but the chairs a little hard to sit in (but they felt sturdy, just uncomfortable. Hard and narrow). The pasta was well textured and the sauces light. I would go again.

The restaurant is located at the Navy, Marine golf course by the airport. They have plenty of parking and a nice location in the club house on the second floor. We made reservations just in case but it didn’t seem crowded which was nice. We were greeted right away the staff was friendly. We sat outside with a good course view, the tables aren’t on top of each which is nice as well. We had to wait for our 4th to arrive so we had some drinks and eat the bread and our starter plate of fries mozzarella. The bread was decent and the fried mozzarella was fresh. The sauce it came with was fairly tasty as well. We all ordered different stuff and I didn’t hear one complaint. I had to Chicken Alfredo and it was pretty good just needed a little pepper but overall the creamy texture was on point. Overall everything was good and I’d definitely go back to try some of the other dishes.

We stopped in for lunch and had a delicious meal. The Eggplant Parmigiana was really nice. The noodles were a nice texture and not overdone. The eggplant was soft and not oily with a good browning on the breading. The calamari was tender and the sauce was not too rich and complimented the dish well. We had the “Return of the Mac” which is like a Old Fashioned made with macadamia nut syrup. They had Buffalo Trace for the bourbon, you can’t go wrong with that. It was a great cocktail for a sunny Sunday afternoon overlooking the putting green. We will definitely be back for more at Mangiamo.

I think I sat at this table with my family for 20 minutes before they even came with bread, and it was the host that brought it, no water nor did they offer to take a drink order. Then another 20 minutes for the server to finally show up. The server was at least nice enough to let me know their eggplant parmesan is sent back a lot, which is a clear sign their kitchen has no clue what their doing. And I was right, everything was really salty, barely palatable. But to top it off, I ordered a pesto pasta, and they had the audacity to lie to my face and try to tell me their pesto is just creamy. Let me tell you about pesto: it’s made with basil as the main ingredient, and a lot of it. And even if you wanted to insult the Italian legacy and make it creamy, it would still be green. This is not pesto, at best its a cream pasta that has dried parsley sprinkled on it. They made the wrong order and did not want to fix it, so they lied. It takes 5 minutes to make pesto linguine. And most of that is boiling the pasta. Seriously. 1 star rating is specifically because they lied, I cannot stand it when people try to lie to me.

We arrived 10 minutes before opening for lunch on Thursday, 3/24/22 and we were seated quickly in the lanai area as requested after opening. There is a nice view of the golf course. We ordered the full size Italian salad with chicken breast and meat Lasagne. We were served quickly with water and a small garlic loaf. The food arrived in about 15 minutes and tasted average. My husband said a frozen lasagna tasted better than the one served here.
