The service and food were amazing! The truffle fries were thick and crispy and paired so well with their dipping sauce. It was such a good deal for the amount and taste for only $10! Then Honey Patch Squash was so good also! The savory flavor combo was so tasty for a squash dish and it was plated so beautifully!
Our favorite of it all was the 14 day aged duck breast and the second place was the Wagyu. We finished everything on our plates and will be back!

Mane Kitchen and Cocktails is exactly what downtown Santa Cruz has been waiting for. It is easily my new favorite restaurant in town and a much-needed addition to the neighborhood.
The vibe is absolutely perfect for a date night—classy, great music, and an atmosphere that feels both upscale and welcoming. I originally came in to support Julie, who was my favorite bartender at the Red Room and is now one of the owners here. She has done an amazing job; the space is beautiful, and the energy is spot on.
The service is top-tier. The hostess, bartenders, and wait staff are all super friendly and work together to create an amazing experience. You can tell they really care about their guests.
As for the menu, everything is excellent. Tonight I had the Leather Bound Book, which is incredible—the burnt rosemary gives it such a unique, smoky aroma.
For food, the Mane Burger is a must-order. The Wagyu beef blend with the bordelaise sauce is rich and flavorful; it’s easily one of the best burgers I’ve had in the area.
If you’re looking for amazing cocktails, delicious food, and a perfect night out, you have to try this place. Highly recommended!

This place was amazing and I would highly recommend checking it out if you’d like a culinary treat. We ordered the liver pate, wedge salad, duck and cacio pepe. The liver pate alone, hands down the most interesting thing I’ve eaten all year. Would pay for a gallon bucket that I could just eat at home. The depth and layers of flavor were insane.
The duck was delicious and so is the cacio pepe, the salad was good, perhaps slightly overdressed.
The biggest area for growth for this business would be the cocktails. Espresso Martini was standard, they had a drink that sounded like come on the floor that was overly floral. But we see what you were trying to do there. The only reason I say this is because cocktails is in the name of the business.
But in terms of culinary adventure, this is a must experience in Santa Cruz.

We were excited about this place based on the other reviews, but most of the food wasn’t very good, nor were the drinks. Unusual choices for flavor and texture combinations in both the cocktails and the food, but not in a good way. We did enjoy the rockfish! Maybe we just didn’t order their standouts. I’d come back to sit at the bar and get an off-menu classic drink like a martini and try the truffle fries.

Welcoming from the word go. Comfortable environment. Alex was a stellar server and was so kind to our autistic grumpy teen when we arrived.
Food was beyond expectations, fresh, creative, delicious and thoughtful. My 9 year old called it the best in the world. Great cocktails. Wonderful wine and food that I will return again and again for. We had the crudo, pate, bread and butter, the cacio e pepe, duck, rockfish and pork and would universally recommend all of the dishes.
Can’t wait to return, it is a rare place that can give a fine dining experience for kids and parents that all enjoy.

Food was delicious and so were the cocktails. Service was on point, attentive but never overbearing. We had the catch of the day (rockfish) and Mane Burger, both were outstanding. Can’t wait to head back to Mabe for a second helping.

Downtowns best new restaurant! Giving European vibes. The hostess was the owner operator, liked her a lot. Our server was fantastic. We started off with a drink I ordered a delicious grapefruit speciality cocktail. My friends had a martini and a glass of wine. We started off with chicken liver pate with pickled onions and grilled sourdough and their grilled squash app. This chef knows what he’s doing. Really fantastic. I had the rockfish for my entree and the plate was cleaned. My friends had the cacio pepe which wasn’t made traditionally but fresh pasta in a pepppery cream sauce hits the spot. We didn’t have dessert. We were pretty full at this point. I’m so glad downtown has this place! Delicious!

We had an amazing culinary experience at Mane! The food, service and ambiance were all great. Our table had a fun mixture of dishes so we could taste a variety. French onion soup ( with a grilled cheese sandwich for the “crouton”, a wedge salad, chicken liver pâté ( the sourdough bread was from the chef’s mom’s 20 year old starter, which he personally came out to explain) frites ( fries) the rockfish on white bean cassoulet. Everything was beyond yummy and well plated. So much complex flavors present, we were all making sounds and faces of pleasure lol. AND it was very reasonable so it can be a regular go to, instead of just a treat once in a while. Don’t miss it! Sorry I didn’t take pics ☹️

We enjoyed this restaurant so much that we dined there twice in the same weekend. Every element—from the cocktails and freshly baked bread with apple butter to the entrées and dessert—was exceptional. It may be some of the best food we’ve ever had. The staff was attentive and welcoming, and the ambiance added to an already wonderful experience. We will certainly return on every trip to Santa Cruz. Highly recommend.

Food, service, and ambiance were first class. Something for everyone on this menu. Elegant, but relaxed. The oysters were some of the best I’ve had. Kudos.
