Hidden gem! This small mom-and-pop shop is one of the best restaurants in Milwaukee—maybe even all of Wisconsin. The food is out of this world. We ordered the Chicken Mandi and the Yemeni beans, and both were phenomenal. The owner—who is also the chef—is Yemeni and runs the restaurant himself, and you can taste the care in every bite. The mandi chicken and rice were smoky, deeply flavorful, and perfectly cooked; the meat fell off the bone. The beans are vegetarian and the best I’ve ever had, served with a drizzle of olive oil and warm, freshly baked Yemeni bread. We’ll gladly be back. Highly recommend.

As good as it gets to having traditional Yemeni food comparing to what I have been eating in Middle East. Not the exact same taste but it’s the best out here. I love their madhbi chicken (Yemeni grilled chicken with rice), their chicken Mandi is also good but my new favorite is their chicken haneeth and on my cheat days is their lamb haneeth. Love their food and the fact it’s family run. I’ll continue being a regular here. The uncle and aunty running the store are so friendly and great always giving their best.

Food was amazing – I’ve never tried Yemeni cuisine before so I wasn’t sure what to expect but every bite was better than the last. We had the chicken and lamb mandi- meat was tender, rice was tasty and each dish came with a side of broth that I could honestly drink just by itself. My partner and I look forward to coming back and trying the same thing AND everything else. Come hungry! Oh and the service was great as well, everyone was super friendly and welcoming.

I randomly stumbled upon Yemeni Taste of Mandi while passing through Milwaukee on my way to Chicago, and I couldn’t have been luckier! This place is truly a hidden gem. I ordered the Lamb Haneeth, and it was absolutely perfect—fall-off-the-bone tender, packed with rich flavors, and paired beautifully with the fragrant rice. The shawarma was just as amazing, bursting with authentic spices and cooked to perfection.
The food was so good that I wouldn’t think twice about making a 70-mile trip just to eat here again. If you’re anywhere near Milwaukee and craving real, flavorful Yemeni cuisine, this spot is a must-visit!

Went there because it was a small place in a strip mall. I love trying out new food. I first tried out their shawarma sandwich and it was amazing. I also tried the Lamb Mandi. The meat fell off the bone, the rice was very aromatic. The salad was delicious, put some salt on it and it’s even better.

This restaurant truly exceeded my expectations! I’ve always enjoyed lamb at Yemeni restaurants, but this place served the best lamb mandi I’ve ever had. The lamb was incredibly tender, practically melting in my mouth. The flavors were perfectly balanced, making every bite delicious. The service was attentive and friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. On top of that, the portion sizes were generous, and the prices were reasonable. If you’re looking for authentic Yemeni cuisine with amazing flavors and a great dining experience, this is the place to go!

The place is tiny and very casual. The handful of tables won’t fit in the restaurant if there are chairs on all sides. I didn’t care! People are friendly, including those sitting in chairs right next to you. The food excited me. So many of these reviewers recommend the lamb mandi! All of them were right! The Kebda (liver) was seasoned brilliantly. Don’t hesitate to try this restaurant. Just be prepared to possibly have to wait for a seat. It’s worth it.
